anyone ever use armor all on the H on the steering wheel?

anyone ever use armorall on the H on the steering wheel and notice it eats the silver? If you never did... don't! Its not too bad... Its just the silver is kind of like melted now....

Blahman240 05-20-2005 09:03 PM

or am I an idiot... and its always been like that?

ex_03 05-20-2005 09:36 PM

I have for a year and few months, no probs?

CivicsRdBest 05-20-2005 09:42 PM

Hmm... I use it around the steering wheel, but not on the H itself.

tinman 05-20-2005 10:34 PM

I refuse to use armor all on anything. Bad experiences.... I found Formula 2001 to be better. Seems to last longer too.

ExVtec01 05-20-2005 10:43 PM

i tried and so far so good

crazyasian 05-20-2005 11:21 PM

i do hear armor all isnt good. y's that?

tinman 05-21-2005 11:01 AM

Armor all is water based. When it evaporates, it dries out the surface even more.
Don't know if they changed the formula since I last had it crack my dash, but I use only producs that are glycerin or silicone based.

Slawek 05-21-2005 11:04 AM

Armorall is bad. The ingredients harm your interior over time if you keep using it. Great marketting, POOR product.

I use Liquid Glass w/mink oil. I dont know if it's available in the US?

PacSmalls 05-21-2005 11:19 AM

yeah i heard armor all sucks so i dont use it.

silicone eats rubber.

But what do you recommend if not armor all?

tony_buttons 07-04-2005 07:40 PM

Hey, I use wax on the H. And also the plastic in front of the gauges. Stays shiney for a while. I know this thread is old.

EnProceso 07-04-2005 09:28 PM

i use armor all inside my car, even on the H, no probs and i think it works great. it doesnt dry out for crap, it'll last a month on my dash when i rub my finger on it.

no, it just doesnt dry up. if it did you know how much i would have to use for it not to dry out in a month on the spot of my car thats in the sun 24/7....well more like 12/7, not counting night time.

TeRRoRiFiC35 07-05-2005 12:22 AM

the only thing wrong with my H is a knuckle mark from me punching it.

Echelon04 07-05-2005 11:07 PM

Now I am interested in the whole Armor-all thing... so what is the best thing to use? That 2001 stuff?

PWNED yourself ;)

stinkypie 07-06-2005 08:09 AM

I use Honda Spray Cleaner and Polish on everything except my seats and carpet. Seems safer that way.

armorall is shit. It also attracts dust like crazy.

I use Simonize on the dash and stuff. I carry a swiffer rag around in the car just to keep the dust off it.

bluestreak 07-06-2005 09:09 AM

Sweet, I'm not the only idiot who punched my stering wheel and has a nice dent in the "H"....:)

LayinLo 07-06-2005 10:22 AM

I use Black Magic Pro Shine:

http://www.blackmagiccarcare.com/

It's water free and contains plastimers.

TeRRoRiFiC35 07-06-2005 10:26 AM

i punched mine after an idiot cut me off almost makin me go off the road

bluestreak 07-06-2005 10:32 AM

I've punched mine more than once, the last time I thought my air bag was gonna go off I hit it so hard........stupid drivers....

burke420 07-06-2005 10:55 AM

put some glass cleaner or sumfin on it. i use like Stoner Invisible Glass. i wipe off any armor all or blk magic that gets on it to jus make sure it dont leave streaks of that stuff.

_Viper_ 07-06-2005 01:21 PM

I once armouralled my steering wheels and was racing with a cavalier Z24. well a bad thing happened in a curve ..I was doing almost 100 MPH and the steering wheel slipped in my hands so i winded up going through the wall barrier totalling my car ..

I was in the hospital for a month..
I tried sueing the armoul all company for that

You are an idiot? You tried to sue? Doesn't it say something like to not put it on your steering wheel? or maybe its common sense....

eye_see_you 07-06-2005 05:34 PM

armor all NO, 2001 products sometimes.. or shining money or mothers interior stuff

rckdrmr 07-07-2005 09:20 PM

everyone gets different results on the same products they use, one may like it while the other may not. i've used armor all and found it not so bad, but there are other products out there that i've searched and found that are better....

Pitch_BlacK 07-08-2005 01:29 AM

:_doh: I just can't believe how many bad comments you guys have for armor all. I've been using it for a long time and I have never had any bad experience with it.

You guys must be using it every freakin' day no wonder your dash are cracking. I only use it twice a month and it never gave me any problem at all.
