zachgeyer 01-26-2005 07:58 PM

sick

R1Style 01-26-2005 09:48 PM

Sick!

Question: Once you take off the stock steering wheel... how did you take off that one plug in the steering coloum that gets in the way of the new hub? It won't pull out.

slick 01-26-2005 09:52 PM

nice looking wheel.
i dont think its illegal, might vary from state to state though. what is illegal is trying to sell a car that has no airbags but that was equipped with factory airbags to begin with, so you couldnt sell our cars without the factory steering wheel on it.

Finally someone gets it right. You can roll with no airbag as long as you have it, but selling it without the airbag equipped is a no-no.

Anyway, I don't mind not having a spare tire - or trunk for that matter - but there's no way I'd put style over function on that level in a daily driver. Accidents happen, and I'll take a potentially life-saving safety feature over a "pimp" looking wheel.

slicksivik 01-26-2005 10:44 PM

darn, cant they make some wheels that have airbags? lol

SingleCamCivic 01-26-2005 11:42 PM

that is a clean wheel.

Cocky 01-27-2005 05:55 AM

but at least you would die looking cool

Keet 01-27-2005 12:56 PM

LOL, it does look nice, but I never understood the point of making modifications that only other Civic owner would be able to spot. It seems like a waste of time, money, and effort.

LOL! You mean like when the steering wheel pops off and you're flying through the air still holding it in your tightly clenched fists?

I agree. Being a kid who's already expierienced a disgusting crash I would far rather have safety of style.

I have the soundstream components and 6x9's in the rear speakers are quite good for the price and once they are amplified Im sure they will be awesome....

question for ya... is it a pain in the a$$ to remove the cruise control ?
i just got a momo hub, nrg quick release hub, and a millenium steering wheel... debating whether to try and do it myself or have someone do it...

I did it in 30 minutes man not hard at all...Take off the screws from the side with a T-30 Torx, pull off the horn gently, disconnect the cruise control harness. The wheel needs a good pull..use some muscle, then tuck the rest of the wires into the hub. Basically thats it...make sure to let your battery set for about an hour before and after install.
