most preferred rim size for civic sedan

between the 2, which size would you prefer based on looks (wheel gap) & performance?

hey guys, i need some advice on choosing rims sizes.

i drive an 04 sedan and i'm installing the eibach prokit.

which tire size would accentuate with the springs better and not create a major gap or chances of rubbing.

thanks bro-ski's

17's look great, but 16's look good as well. i was debating this, but i have decided on 16's for my sedan because they are cheaper and still look great imo

CivicsRdBest 05-02-2006 04:18 PM

16's.

anyway, do you have any pics of the rims in mind?

Tragedy 05-02-2006 04:19 PM

^^ yeah I like mauls 16"'s..http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...21#post3861321

16"-18" looks nice imo.

02BLKCIVIC 05-02-2006 04:21 PM

That Shit is HOT^^^^

16's are a little easier to "spin" IMO

familycar 05-02-2006 04:23 PM

i have a set of 18's with a 225/40/18 with eibach prokits as well but also using kyb agx's. in all honesty the 18's are too big. i think 17's are perfect but you will need a 215/45/17 to fill in the wheel well gap. i have about and inch now with the 18's and 225/40's so the 17's with 215/45's will be about the same. the pics that i have are already uploaded in the site so i cant repost them here but i do have pics in the clean 7thgens thread

17 if you dont mind the more harsh ride compared to 16 (and more rubber). I chose 16 b/c my Civic was a daily driver and I'm in NYC so.............

familycar 05-02-2006 07:03 PM

it all depends on the tire as well. you can get a similar size sidewall for the 16 as you can for the 17. so basically its down to what size do you like. i personally dont like bubly tires. i love the way a 215/45/17 looks just enough tire not too much rims or tire, but that is me :)

18s mang.....with a small drop is all you need. but im gonna be tucking them soon with my d2 full coilovers i just got...

if you want better pics i can take better pics for you if you want. this is with the suspension im selling now...my tein s.techs with tokico blues and stock 02 upper mounts.

yup exactly. i have decided on 15s because of performance. but with 15 its really hard to find a rim that looks good.

SEVYN 05-03-2006 12:53 AM

^^ those si rims are 16s right? iuno, i know you have eibach prokit.. i just want the same drop as yours because honestly it looks real clean man.

LiKEaFeRiO 05-03-2006 01:07 AM

You have an 04 EX right?
I'd keep the stock 15' rims and get some 205s later.

If I had the chance I'd trade my 17s for some 04/05 EX rims anyday.

Just noticed you are in GG...funny that I've never seen your car on the road before.

rob (spoonem) has a set of rota grids in royal bronze as well and he is local too. the gt3's would be sick on a MM EM2 in red

SEVYN 05-04-2006 02:40 PM

i still dont get why most ppl prefer the gt3's in red. i know its the jdm fad thing to do.

FYI: the GT3's are in gunmetal, 16''. PM me for price.

gearbox 05-04-2006 03:43 PM

my si rims are 15s!
