nice wheel, just too small for me. i had borbets on my 96 civic, i think they are a great wheel.

Boilermaker1 09-30-2004 01:27 PM

They look too Volkswagen.

Grey 09-30-2004 01:31 PM

There's a whole bunch of wheels out there that look much better on a Civic than that one. :)

birdman-c 09-30-2004 01:41 PM

Wow, tough crowd :)

Zzyzx 09-30-2004 01:59 PM

I'd have to say at least its a 15X7... for looks, its not really my thing. but then you are asking for opinions... and Opinions are like A**holes, everyones got one and they all stink.

birdman-c 09-30-2004 02:01 PM

The wheel I initially wanted is below - tirerack will charge me $60 big ones to swap them out...

I know the borbet name is good, that is why I went with them.. but I am considering a change as I too think the borbet won't flow with the civic.

What do you think of the below?

Those rims do look a bit "euro" but that doesn't mean they can't be put on a Civic. If you like them; go for it. My only advice would be to go with at least 17's.

mogwai 09-30-2004 02:07 PM

Of the two I prefer the first ones.

euro is good
I got euro lookin grims on my car, I'm european.... :hgrin:

Mogwai... going with 15" for the sole reason that I don't want to drop the car. Mine comes with 14" pizza cutters so just getting a "stock" setup for the summer.

birdman-c 09-30-2004 02:40 PM

Just saw this one - would look good against my magnesium grey with tints... what do you guys think?

2nd one looks like it's for a chevy for some reason...

3rd one is so so old school. Take a look at Konig's wheels for style. Then take a look at all of the brand names like 5Zigen, Ray's, Mugen, etc. Then take a look at Rota's wheels and see the low price and relative light weight. Get Rota's.

I like the second one, then the first ... last and VERY least the third...

buy as big as you can afford ! 15"'s too small IMO

DodgeNeonSRT-4 10-01-2004 01:11 PM

yeah the rim looks fine but 15's...I like 2k2 with his 19's, personally I'm slammed on 18's with a 30 series tire and I think it looks perfect...fits in the wheel well right

but hey, to each their own, you don't have to have our approval to put it on your car

Will there be much of a fuel economy loss on the 16" rims?

someguy 10-04-2004 09:40 AM

dude go with some light weight rims....like the enekis or motegis....less rotating mass. you could probably get a 16" or 17" rim that weighs the same as that one. just saying. thats probably as big as i would go....i think bigger then that looks retarded....but to each their own.

CravenA 10-07-2004 01:41 AM

i dont like any of them ... too small i guess :((
go get 17 or 18 ... especially velox v8 which will look perfectly fine on civic
