Opinions: Which color rims? - Check last page and post opinion please
 

I currently have a 2003 Ralley Red DX 'Vic. I am wondering what color rims everyone thinks looks best with my color. Your opinions are much appriciated.

*****************EDIT: I have attached pics of a milano red RSX with rims similar to those which I will be getting....I would like everyone's opinion as to whether they think the bronze rims on the car look hott, or whether they think the gunmetal counterpart would look better....thanks.

I think gunmetal with polished lip looks real good on pretty much everything. Thats my vote.

I said bronze because:
a. It looks awesome
b. Hardly anyone has it
c. Gunmetal is so played out its not funny. When it starts becoming a factory rim color, you know its time to ditch it. I'm gonna have to powdercoat my Si wheels blue to keep them different (they're GM now).

^^Yeah, I have been contemplating that....The Volk rims I want come in Bronze.

I need to get them photochopped to see how it will look. Are there any Red Vics on this site with bronze rims?

Most likely getting Rotas. They seem to be more bang for your buck. I can afford them pretty much now and I would rather have rims on instead of the hubs. I am looking into Rota Mugen RNR replicas flat black with a red lip. I have seen an EP on cardomain that is stock red with them, and it looks pretty sick.

Looking into gunmetal as well. Im not sure Rota bronze would look hott in stock red and I can't really find any examples.

I said flat black. My reasoning was this:
First white was the hot color on Red cars, now everyone has them. Plus they remind me of my Telefonica wheels too much. Now, gunmetal is the craze. Everyone has either full GM, or GM w/ polished lip. Silver is always going to be a popular color for any vehicle. I like flat black because red and black look good together. The rotas sound like a good choice, I thought about getting the 16" slipstreams for my black civic. Then, I considered a custom made Jesse James in an anodized black. Now, I'm pretty set on either Tenzo ZT6's or Konig Glides. Bronze would be my second choice with red though. It's unique, and really pops w/ rallye red.

I think White Rims on a red car look hot. Silver would look good too imo.

Silver. It never gets old, unlike gunmetal, white, and eventually, bronze.

Bronze, or get one with a polished lip. I have granite with a polished lip and it looks awsome.

I have both silver and flat black. It all depends on your theme and style, below are pics of my car. I like flat black the most just coz it flows right with my black and red theme.

wow that sucks, silver, bronze, gunmetal with polished lip, and flat black are all at 20%. I'd say majority rules....but there is no majority. TTT

I don't really like how silver looks...my themes are red and black which leaves the possiblity of bronze, gunmetal w/ polished lip, and flat black. I'm most likely getting slipstreams. They look the best out of what is attainable at this time.

I never really liked bronze, flat black, or gunmetal for that matter. I would go with Silver or White. I would say white for sure if it was a white car - kinda like the old Integra type R's that came stock in white with white rims. If my next car is white I'll def. go with white. But in your case you've got red. I think silver's your safe bet. Its not too radical or revolutionary but it will look good none the less. But its your preference so do what you want - hope it looks good!

Im currently using carbon. Kinda like a semigloss cross between black and gunmetal.

i picked white. i've seen a few red cars with white wheels and it looked pretty good IMO. the only thing that would prolly make me chose another color would be keeping white wheels clean. but if you can keep them clean white would be perfect and plus it would match all the ricey stickers you could put on your car...j/k.

I have pretty much made my decision to those of you who care.

I'm going to go with Rays Gramlights 57c in gunmetal with anodized red lugs.

actually I changed my mind, I'm going with P1 Racing 17s in Gunmetal....weigh about the same as grams.

if you want to be original get rainbow colors.... let each spoke be a different color. :wink:

What size ya looking for?? I got some 17x7 Exel P-5's. Gunmetal (well, more of a lighter gunmetal) with a polished lip. Check em' out. http://www.wheelmax.com/Wheels/exel/exel.htm Get a wheel tire package 215/45/17 mounted, balanced and shipped for $810!!! I got them on my Blue 02 ex and they look PIMP! :2pimp: Especially with a 1.5 inch drop. And the lip is the longest i've seen on a 7 inch wide rim. Makes them look wider. The tires that come with the package are quite nice too. Aggressive tread pattern and pretty nice grip. These would look real good on ur red vic :tup:

I picked gunmetal with polished lip - I'm obsessed with that combo, and I've seen it on some red vics around my area; looks sick. But if you have the option to go bronze with polished lip, I think that might actually look better, depending what shade of bronze the rims come in.

Well, I'm sort of leaning towards Work Emotion CRs in bronze... I have seen them on a Milano Red RSX-S and they looked sick...lemme find that pic.

So it's either the bronze or regular gunmetal I think.

Anyway, since milano red is quite similar to rallye red and I liked them on the following car, I figured I'd like them on my own and it would be something a little different than your average silver.
