Knocking Clunking Sounds Over Bumps All, I have a 01 Civic Ex Coupe. The car has been making a clunking, knock when going over bumps. The LCA bushings look OK and I was told by the old owner that they were replaced recently. I also just replaced the front struts and the noise is still there. Everything seems tight and I haven't a clue where the noise comming from. The springs have the rubber covers on the bottom coils where they seat on the base of the strut. I tightened all the upper bolts on the struts, still lots of noise. The car drives over bumps and sound like a total POS. I know Honda has gone down hill recently but this cant be right. I've looked over the TSBs and searched here and Honda-tech but found nothing really. Thanks all. |
Re: Knocking Clunking Sounds Over Bumps i some what had the same problem it was my sway bar links and my shocks was leaking. |
Re: Knocking Clunking Sounds Over Bumps did you do the work to fix it? i was thinking taking out the endlinks and test driving it to see if the noise will go away. I hate this POS car.. |
Re: Knocking Clunking Sounds Over Bumps I've got a leaking strut up front and it's making noises over bumps. The steering wheel will shake when hitting bumps on the side the leaking strut is on. I'm going to replace all four struts with better units. It seems to be common for the stock struts to leak. What a shame. Mine started leaking at 24k miles. |
