Glossy/Shiny interrior paint Im looking into painting my dash white, but some of the paint jobs i have seen look really dull, is there a way to paint the peices so they will have a glossy/shiny coat on top? what kinda paint should i use? and what should i do before i start painting? Thx, -Drew |
i wouldn't paint the dash too shiny, you'll get lot's of glare from the sun. I'd go with a flat white, rough up surface to be painted with medium grit sandpaper, wipe, paint primer white, then paint your dash with flat white paint. |
thx, but disregarding glare, how do i get it glossy? -Drew |
use clearcoat! |
My first suggestion would be to take it to a painter. If you was not going to color match then you could maybe throw some pearl in the mix! Second use lots of clear coat! |
I painted mine white and just used a lot of clear coat and it is shiny. I lost count on all the clear coats I put on after about 6 times just make sure to let it dry thoroughly between coats. |
I used 3 coats of clear, came out nice, until my car got broken into and the glass screwed everything up:shake: What is still intact looks nice tho:tup: |
