tracking down source of steering wheel wobble I could use some suggestions to help track down the source of a steering wheel wobble. My steering wheel wobbles between 55-65 MPH. It's not severe, but obnoxious. I just finished replacing most of the front end, including rear control arms, sway bar links, struts, ball joints, and inner and outer tie rod ends. I did not replace the axles or wheel bearings. I also replaced the rear struts. After doing all the suspension work, I had the tires balanced and an alignment done. The front brakes are new. The pads and rotors have about 5,000 miles on them. The driver's side wheel bearing and axle were replaced in 2018, and I've probably driven about 15,000 miles since then. At this point, I'm not sure what the source of the wobble could be. The bearings seem to be okay. When I had the knuckles off, they both felt smooth when I spun them by hand, and there doesn't seem to be any play when I shake the tires now that everything is installed. I'm suspicious about the driver's side axle shaft that I replaced 3 years ago. I got a cheap Cardone axle from Amazon, and it's already way more rusty than the Honda axle on the passenger side that is much older. Any suggestions? What can I do to track down the problem? Thanks! |

Re: tracking down source of steering wheel wobble steering system itself subframe and bushings cracks in the chassis (I have seen some) You mentioned rear arms, what about the fronts? (I also had cracked arms, hard to see) |
