Radiator fans don't kick in with a/c on. Hey guys, I have a 2002 1.6 hatchback EU, I have never seen the radiator fans going. I bought the car at winter so I was sure it is because the temp was low. But today I wanted to try the a/c since the temp was 20 C, but it did not work. The fans did not spin, the compressor clutch did not engage. I put a jumper into the fan controller and they work. Could you guys help me where to start? P. S.: I checked the coolant temp, it did not go above 84 C while driving. Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad english. |
Re: Radiator fans don't kick in with a/c on. I would first check for pressure in the low side AC line. Then I would check the AC pressure switch. Then I would check all fuses. If the AC clutch is not energizing then don’t even worry about the fans, the problem is likely elsewhere. |
Re: Radiator fans don't kick in with a/c on. I checked the fuses and switched all relays with the horn relay, fuses are ok, horn works with all the relays. |
Re: Radiator fans don't kick in with a/c on. When I jump the clutch relay, it engages. Same with the fans. Any idea where to see now? I am about to check the low line tomorrow. |
