Do stock 7th gens have any window tint?

I'm going to get a tint done... I have been told that many cars come with a slight tint stock, like 90 or 95%. I want to get as much tint as I legally can (35% in my state, MA). So I want to know if I need to factor in any slight tinting that may already be on the windows.

Black03civic 03-21-2006 01:36 PM

i dont belive so, if you have a sun roof then thats the only thing that would come tinted. 35% is what i have and it looks good.

HonCivX02 03-21-2006 01:41 PM

The factory tint is true. Its kind of a greenish tint on the windshield, you never notice it though.

Stachmo 03-21-2006 01:44 PM

there is a slight greenish tint on our cars...I thought it was like 95%

I was told when I had my tint put on that whatever percent I got, it would drop about 5% because of the slight factory tint

I could be totally wrong though

gearbox 03-21-2006 01:45 PM

all the windows are green tinted. doesn't really matter enough to affect the tint you put on.

TemjinX2 03-21-2006 02:29 PM

^^^^
have you seen some of the mercedes windows? There tinted a light blue.

clrumivier4life 03-21-2006 08:27 PM

I ended up getting 20% on the back and little triangle windows and 35% on the front windows. I went with that because it fades into the windsheild really well. 20% all around looks weird with a clear windsheild.

idk, 35 is pretty dark to me in the day...

95% stock green. i got mine done. it was 20. so 20-5 more is 15.

Ok if this is the case, I'll get a 40% tint to stay within the 35% state limit. I am all set with getting pulled over for the shade of my windows...

gearbox 03-22-2006 12:37 AM

most places only carry 5, 15, 20, 25, 35, 50, etc

lewal 03-22-2006 01:12 AM

just got my retinted; 15% in the back, 20% on the sides... I used to have 15% and 35% and I thought it didn't flow well/looked too light for the car

LOL so you are saying that most places offer everything except 40%

LiKEaFeRiO 03-22-2006 02:32 AM

The green tint is just a solar screen to prevent UV rays and to prevent sun damage to your interior trim.

gearbox, I'm guessing you don't get hassled much for your fronts being tinted over in Urbana? I get it all the time over here (I am 40 minutes to your left). Had to take the tinting off my last car's fronts because I got pulled over 3 times and finally ticketed.

Otherwise, love your car. I have a 05 sedan...might have to make my way over to your area and convince you to show me how to drop a car. :)

karizzle 03-22-2006 01:28 PM

cops r tolerant here in montreal, quebec, with tints. i know a couple of people with 5% on there front, and a handful with 20 on their front (limit is 75)

scatman 03-22-2006 02:02 PM

factory tint is around 94-97%

southpasdena 03-23-2006 02:15 AM

My car came stock with tint from the dealer. Its light, what percentage it is idk, but i bought my car in TX and got the darkest that you could legally get

HonCivX02 03-25-2006 07:30 AM

^What % is it ?

jackburton 03-25-2006 12:18 PM

That is not that dark, you should see 15% all around on a sedan, you cannot see in the back seats at all. My buddy has an 04 accord coupe with 35% all the way around, even on the front windshield. In the evening you cannot not even see a person sitting in the front seat from like five feet away. It looks a lot darker on the sides too, like 20-25%. That is the main reason he did it so that the sides who appear much darker, and if he ever gets pulled over he can just take it off the front, instead of everything. He goes to school out of state, so it really does not matter during the week. He is crazy though, sometimes you can barely make out the lines on some roads, especially in the rain.

I read once that if you wanted that on a car it had to be hp blue 50 window tint. But yeah they look so sick with the blue tint.

jackburton 03-26-2006 01:04 PM

Oh yeah that reminds me, MBs are known for having like a purple/bluish hue when tinted because of that. I also remember hearing from a friend of a friend of osme guy who had one of his windows broken and the new window put in was tinted and looked different from the others. I think he ended up replacing all the windows so they were all black, so keep that in mind next time you go to buy a Mercedes.

Stachmo 03-26-2006 09:11 PM

35% tint - 5% factory

around 30%...
