Help my friend choose a car.

Requirements:

Acura, BMW, Audi, or Benz.
Brand new.
Can drive in the snow.
$30-35k.
4-door.

My ex gf needs opinions.

And none of this... buy a old civic and then drop some 10Gs of mods into it and make a sleeper civic. The requirements are listed above!

CivicsRdBest 01-20-2005 09:40 PM

TSX/TL. Great combo. They're FWD so you have an upper hand while driving in the snow over RWD cars.

They're comfy too, and um, well, yeah, stylish... um, high-revving... reliable, and they'll hold their value, unlike other cars.

armieo 01-20-2005 09:44 PM

So I guess she's looking for AWD or 4WD.

aznrocka 01-20-2005 09:52 PM

I think audi, benz, and bmw have AWD cars in that price range.

04|5spdCivic 01-20-2005 09:52 PM

Audi S6 AND WHY IS SHE YOUR EX GF? whats her phone number?

dalaw 01-20-2005 10:08 PM

how about G35X?

armieo 01-20-2005 10:09 PM

What's a G35X

nookiemonster 01-20-2005 10:12 PM

A G35X is basically a G35 sedan with a RWD biased AWD system. It's remniscent of the ATESSA but is by no means the ATESSA system.

I think the G35X is okay I suppose, but I'd rather have the TSX. It looks alot nicer, plus you can get alot more out of your dollar. The FWD should do just fine in the snow.

tripledoublegs 01-20-2005 10:41 PM

Audi A4 hands down. I'm not going to suggest an S6 like that guy because it doesn't fall in that category, but an A4 w/ navigation and leather would be perfect.

dirtySAMURAI 01-20-2005 11:07 PM

A4 Quattro. Make sure it's a Quattro. Also make sure that it has a warranty. DEFINITELY make sure it has a warranty. lol. In fact, if you don't get any warranty papers, tell the dealer to shove it.

skipbarber 01-20-2005 11:11 PM

i agree with infinite...A4 quattro...is the way to go.

allmotor 01-20-2005 11:36 PM

hotrodcivic2004 01-20-2005 11:41 PM

Alphax 01-21-2005 09:15 AM

PunkingCivic 01-21-2005 09:31 AM

I'd get the audi a4

taz757 01-21-2005 10:12 AM

I'd say get a 325xi BMW. Such a nice car.

yeah...if you cant haggle down to your price range for a 330 xi, go w/ the 325 xi. theyre great cars. very roomy, powerful and classy. i think the redesigned version might not be as bad as the other redesigns either.

look into the saab 9.3 aero also. that is a nice car.

02boostlessCIV 01-21-2005 11:08 AM

i say TL

incubus7d 01-21-2005 11:47 AM

steak84ss 01-21-2005 12:45 PM

kimchi29 01-21-2005 12:50 PM

a3 isnt out yet. love that car though

armieo 01-22-2005 12:02 AM

So all these suggested cars have AWD or 4WD?

evopanop 01-22-2005 01:24 AM

The ones that were suggested that actually fall under those requirements that have AWD are as follows:

Infiniti G35x
BMW 325/330xi
Audi A4 Quattro
Oh, and also the BMW X3. Sweet SUV... *drooling*

:sweet:

Audi S4 is a great car but as everyone knows Vw and Audis dont have great re tail values... and have many electrical defects....

I would suggest the Acura TSX....but if she doesnt care about re tail and what not S4 is the way to go

SimplySLB 01-22-2005 05:56 PM

I'd go for the BMW X3 SAV. So nice. I am looking into one now actually.

BigDaddyHonda 01-23-2005 08:32 AM

They are all 4 door sedans and the 1st three are all wheel drive

**G35X = has a de-tuned version of the 3.5 liter 350Z engine & a 5-speed auto trans. Mfr sticker price $33,000 to $38,000

**BMW 325Xi = 2.5 liter 6 cyl with a 5-speed manual as the standard tranny. Mfr sticker price $32,000 to $42,000 (the 330Xi costs a lot more!)

**Audi A4 = 4 door sedan - choice of 4 cyl 1.8 turbo ($30,000 to $34,000) or 6 cyl 3.0 liter ($32,000 to $39,000), both with 5-speed auto tranny

**Acura TSX is only available in front wheel drive, but as everyone has said, it's a contender :)

ncirom2003 01-23-2005 11:25 AM

 to the g35x but i dont know of any benz awd cars for that cheap... go for audi or bmw 325xi acura tl is pretty nice tho
