Well for Civics the Si has the most power stock but they are ugly now. I personally own a 2002 Civic EX Coupe fully loaded with all the options except leather and heated seats. But spoiler, 6-speaker CD, sunroof, 5-speed etc... is a very nice upgrade for me. It is a fun car to modify but unless you put turbo on it the N/A won't give out as much. People might complain about availability and range of parts for the 7th gen Civics and it is true in some sectors, but for the most part there are a lot of parts for the car.

I came from a 1994 Saturn SL1 with power nothing and no aftermarket parts. I basically made stuff fit but it did look good. So to me this is a BIG upgrade. So far I bought the car with 6k on it and it is currently at 33600 now. No problems to speak of except for a slight rattle when I make hard right turns, but I am going to have that checked out since I have a 7yr-100k bumper to bumper.

get the STI!

Connie 09-09-2004 09:30 AM

yeah I would go with a 2k2 EX couple also myself....wait thats what I have. It is definately funner to modify :D

dalaw 09-09-2004 09:32 AM

well if your significant other already has a civic then i suggest you get something else.

streetglower 09-09-2004 10:29 AM

I dont think you would have any fun modding the civic because most mods dont give you shit for HP.

Now the STI on the other hand, I think you would definetly have fun modding it. And besides on the WRX, for every $15 you spend, you get one HP. Besides, They look better too. And also since your other has an ex, might as well pick something else. And if you have the money for an STI, dont wimp out and pick a civic, get a good car. Pick the STI.

LOL, I was thinking the same thing. I would think it would be more like between an evo and STI, but never a 300+ HP car and a 127 HP car.

aznboysrfr 09-09-2004 12:27 PM

holy crap get the sti

Get the STI....hella better.

dariusld 09-09-2004 12:45 PM

His heart is saying STi and his wallet is saying Civic.

matrix311 09-09-2004 12:57 PM

get a G35 coupe or a VW R34 if your looking to spend 30k on a ride.

Can't really compare the 17k Civic considering its nearly half price.

bobbio 09-09-2004 01:39 PM

Get the STi and mod your girlfriend's EX...that way you get the best of both worlds. You'll have speed (STi) and fun factor with the modding (EX).

Wolfgang5884 09-09-2004 01:40 PM

Don't make a very bad mistake. Take the STI and run with it!!!

pwr2thaboost 09-09-2004 01:48 PM

Yeah, the STi would be awesome, but theres not much modin' u can do to it...ya know, its pretty much all set lest u get a turbo (which i have found, $950) but, iono, EternalBlue_Vic wants me to get a civic, so we can cruise together, and supe up our cars together...but yeah, im pretty set on gettin a civic, also cause an STi would cost me 40 grand, money im kindda reluctant to pay...so sum advice on what year and modle civic to get would be nice...also, what kind of mod. do u suggest???? AEM or Injen cold air intake??? i hear good things about injen...any opinions?

dalaw 09-09-2004 02:15 PM

^wait are you a guy or girl, just wondering.

pwr2thaboost 09-09-2004 03:27 PM

pwr2thaboost 09-09-2004 04:09 PM

well it all depends what u want to do with it?
if u want power i would say get an LX = its cheaper.. than swap the engine for a k20 and turbo the k20... but if ur lookin to run only with a turbo get the EX - has vtec
or u could just get an Ex and get some bolt-ons on it.. wont give u much power.. but like u said it is fun to mode..

ThaitaniumGK 09-09-2004 10:27 PM

New Rsx type S.. kinda looks like a civic... way faster and more luxury... since the sti costs like 30k and civic around 15k.. its just inbetween there.. my pick.. the type S
