CVT Question Hey guys, I'm new to the honda forums (I typically live in the corvetteforum) and figured I'd ask a question that I have been searching for an answer for a while. My girlfriend has a 2012 Honda Civic Hybrid which recently got a Maintenance Reminder stating that the transmission fluid needed to be replaced. I'm not the most informed about CVTs since I do not own a car with a CVT. I prefer the good ole standard transmission. Back to my question.... I can not find any information in the owners manual about a filter replacement schedule for the transmission. Do these transmission have a non serviceable filter? I have found several gasket/ filter kits. The filter looks like it should not be difficult to replace. If I have overlooked anything obvious, please excuse my ignorance. Thanks, Connor P.S: I am very comfortable doing car work. I have access to a lift, so getting the car in the air is not a problem. I have done extensive engine and trans work on my ole 92 corvette. Re: CVT Question 2012 Honda Civic Hybrid Routine fluid service is simple drain and fill. Approximately 3 quarts for a single fluid service. Correct fluid for that one is Hondas CVTF (pictured below) NO SUBSTITUTES https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.civ...2cc1edbb52.jpg |
Re: CVT Question Thanks for the info! Very seldom do I stray from the recommended specs in the owners manual. Thanks, Connor |
