Exhaust problems....please help!!!

i have a 2002 honda civic lx coupe 5-speed and i am looking for a cat-back exhaust. i am looking for a deep "bass" tone (not that ricey, cheap, high pitched wimper tone). also i am looking for it to be loud and noticeable. i was told that skunk2 mega power has a deep tone and some have told me it has a ricey tone. Anyone with a deep souning cat back exhaust please im me and tell me what you have.

i have an injen short ram intake and some people have had problems with it filling up with water and blowing the engine. comments???

does that electric turbo work?...lol....looking for a cost effective way to achieve HP gains.

2cute 07-30-2002 11:56 PM

How would a SRI fill with water unless the engine was submerged? i could understand the CAI filling with water but not the SRI.

RSXtypeIvtec 07-31-2002 12:03 AM

no that electric turbo does not work haha
anyways, and sri fillin up with water?!?! dont know where your getting your facts from....
i got the greddy evo, and its very deep, and pretty loud, its not too loud though, and not ricey at all
that might help ya out

what do you mean im you?
cause you didnt leave an aim name
nor do you have your pm's on so?? yea

2cute 07-31-2002 12:06 AM

Oh to answer the exhaust question get under your car and take a close look at your set up I think you will get a very cheap exhaust idea that in my opinion is the best exhaust for the 7th gen vic.

RookieTuner 07-31-2002 12:15 AM

i am in love with the DC TCS cat-back exhaust. will it fit on my 2002 honda civic lx coupe model???????

RSXtypeIvtec 07-31-2002 12:16 AM

im pretty sure it will
but it isnt loud at all, if thats what your lookin for

AFlyer 07-31-2002 12:19 AM

GReddy EVO is nice and deep, not too loud, but enough to turn heads. i love mine, 100%

RookieTuner 07-31-2002 12:20 AM

when i listened to the sound clip on this forusm i sounded loud....what would be a good deep sound like that one but loud?

2cute 07-31-2002 12:24 AM

I'm telling you, you don't have to spend a dime to have a bad a$$ exhaust. But if you want to buy one and you want it to be loud don't buy the TCS that was not really designed for optimal performance it was designed to prove that you can stay under stict emmissions and still gain power.

hahahahaha
if you call 5 hp with intake headers and TCS then i guess you could call it power
hahaha, wouldnt waste a dime on that if you were going for power

RookieTuner 07-31-2002 12:28 AM

i mean i don't want a annoying loud sound i just want a deep noticeable sound.

2cute 07-31-2002 12:31 AM

It isn't a true twin canister desing anyhow. They have the twin can to keep the car a ULEV car. Nothing more.

RookieTuner 07-31-2002 12:33 AM

i think i'm gonna go with the greddy evo..but are there any others that are reccommended for low deep tone and good performance?

RookieTuner 07-31-2002 12:39 AM

neverming i won't go with the greddy evo becasue its made for the ex models only. i have an lx, and options for the lx model?

will my search for a good exhaust ever end?

are the thermal r&d's any good?

ASWZero 07-31-2002 01:49 AM

The Apex'i N1/WS/GTone exhaust are out. they are full cats but I think are only out for the EX. sorry to get your hopes up.

As far as I know, there is nothing to do with emissions after the cat. Everything past that is sound supression.

enzymes 07-31-2002 02:52 AM

Are there any nice, please note nice, not rice, sounding ones that aren't too loud, since I generally roll home around 4:30, and I'd rather not piss off my neighbors, and I don't really wanna ride neutral down my street.

Gryphin 07-31-2002 08:19 AM

well ya could really just put one of thoes sexy led muffs and call yourself "Cool" haha j/k greddy evo is good

DcatStylee 07-31-2002 08:27 AM

Dcat loves his Thermal R&D cat-back.

It does that is why the stock setup is the way it is. If it was the true TCS design it would have been a bad a$$ exhaust

Civey 07-31-2002 10:54 AM

DC Sports =

if you want a good sound, i suggest the DC SPorts TCS. 50 state legal, carb approved, cant go wrong with that. As for you SRI, dont worry, unless you are driving into a pond, your engine wont blow. If you want to get a little more HP with out the engine heat effecting your performence, buy the injen CAI with the AEM valve. No worries there if you get that.
DOnt buy that electric turbo crap, it doesnt work.

RookieTuner 07-31-2002 07:20 PM

i alreadyhave the injen SRI, so can i buy the AEM valve and put it on with hte SRI?...do you know if the valve will effect my warranty?

i heard the DC TCS was fairly quiet sounding....true?...is it noticeable from a distance?

do you know what the aem bypass valve does? you dont need it for an SRI.

you can heard sound clips of the TCS in the threads above, "Exhaust Clips"

y2k2ciVic 08-01-2002 02:22 AM

There isnt much out there dynoed for our cars that makes alot of HP, just nos, honda got as much power as they could out of our lil engines already! i getting TCS tho because it sounds sooooo good.

Gshockbreaker 08-01-2002 11:14 AM

Hey RookieTuner, I have a used OBX cat-back for sale. Its 2.5 inch pipings with OBX Muffler. Its for LX coupe and it sounds deep and loud. give me a email at gshockbreaker@yahoo.com or a PM if you're interested.

RookieTuner 08-01-2002 04:45 PM

wouldn't a 2.5" piping on my honda civic be too big and slow down my car. i thought 2.25" was the ideal size for mperformance.

RookieTuner 08-01-2002 11:47 PM

ok i must know this all important question.........will the skunk2 mega power cat-back exhaust fit on my 2002 honda civic lx coupe . if so will it perform the same as it would on the ex or would it prove to be useless.

the guy at some web site forgot the URL said that the skunk2 made this exhaust for the lx model. i didn't think so.

can anyone clear this up?

Gshockbreaker 08-02-2002 02:45 AM

I don't think they made it for the LX. Also, 2.5 inch pipings isn't too big for our cars, you shouldn't go bigger than 2.5. I have the OBX catback exhaust system made for LX coupes. I don't need it anymore.

Sim012 08-02-2002 03:52 AM

hey G will that fit an EX? Ill take it if its the single tip.. can u givve me a pic of how it looks and how much with shipping to TX (77703). email me
