VTEC Solenoid gasket DIY? I have an oil leak coming from my VTEC Solenoid. From what ive read the gaskets have gone bad for most people. Its seems pretty easy. Is there anyhing I should be aware of or any pointers? Thanks. |
Re: VTEC Solenoid gasket DIY? Your talking bout the gasket for your valve cover? |
Re: VTEC Solenoid gasket DIY? nah, OP was talking about the VTEC solenoid. It's the little thing circled in green. http://www.pakwheels.com/forums/atta...ivi-vtec-e.jpg |
Re: VTEC Solenoid gasket DIY? I had rivers of oil spewing due to a hard, cracked gasket... I was quoted $30 for a new one.... I'm far too cheap for that, so I just whipped out some silicone gasket goo that was laying around, and went to town. It's been holding for 2 months now, no problems. |
Re: VTEC Solenoid gasket DIY? does that tend to cause oil to leak down the front side of the block? i have a leak wonder if thats where my leak is |

There are 2 rubber gaskets for the VTEC valve. 1 goes between the valve and the head, the other is for the solenoid on top of the valve. |
