drum brakes Anyone know a good how to on this ? I'm wanting to change my rear drums but need a little help!! And off topic, but what would cause my valve cover bolts to leak oil ????? |
Re: drum brakes If you look closely, there are little gaskets or seals underneath the bolts. When they get old, they get brittle and start to crack, which is probably a good indication they need to be changed. You can get a valve cover gasket, spark plug tube seals, and those cover bolt seals as a set at local auto parts stores as a set. What do you need to know about drum brakes? I've only dealt with them on my Corolla and they were a PitA, but they rarely wear down since a good majority of the braking is done in the front. I think there is an adjustment screw to toy around with them. I don't have my manual around ATM, but there are a few guys here who can help you with that. |
Re: drum brakes Are you looking to change the pads in your drum brakes, or are you looking into a disk conversion?? A little more specificity would be best And oil leaking could be a sign of a gasket gone bad |

Re: drum brakes hey newfied, you should put that pdf in your sig to help the newbies out ;) . |
Re: drum brakes or beat them on the head with the pdf lol, yeah I agree might be a good idea to add to the sig seeing as how many of them do not know what the search function does lol. |
