Window repair So when i roll up the driver window it goes up then stops. after that i have to move it down then back about twice to let it reach to the top. how would i go about repairing that. Is it just lubricate the regular or just buy a new one completely. honda civic 1997 hx |
Re: Window repair had the same problem on a 96 hatch. turned out to be just a worn regulator. lots of pivot points on it to wear over the years. got a new one from the dealer for about $70 and except for a small hangup due to needing to replace the window seal it works like new. was also a really quick easy swap. |
Re: Window repair Lube the regulator and if that doesn't work it's #1: http://www.hondapartscheap.com/south...t=0&quantity=0 |
Re: Window repair so i lube up the regulator and nothing, but i think i might have reinstalled it incorrectly. the window is much worse now, gets stuck about 2/3 of the way up. had to raise it with my hands. any advice on reinstalling it? do i buy a new motor as well? or just the regulator? |
Re: Window repair It should only go back in one way. Just get the regulator. You don't need a motor if the one you have works. |
Re: Window repair sorry, mine is a dx hatch so it is manual. but a few months ago I replaced the entire assembly on a 2002 ex for a friend. she got a new regulator and motor from carquest for $50. I had it swapped out in less then 1/2 an hour. |
Re: Window repair thanks for the help guys! i was able to put everything back in working order. the window moves up and down smoothly now. it squeaks a little but thats because one of the bolts holding in the wheel in the regulator has worn out and doesnt hold it as steady as the other one. thanks again for all the help! |
Re: Window repair i had this same problem with my manual dx except mine kept getting off track and then one day it just started working like a charm |
