2002 Civic - won't start Car was going through a funny electrical phase. If I had the radio on, air con running, and then added something else to the electrical mix (rear window heater, braking...), the the radio would dim, the ABS warning light would come on. Switched car off. Turned key. Fast "clicking" noise - but it wouldn't start. When I turn the key, I can get all the usual warning lights; the radio shows "CODE" - but it won't start, and it clicks. When I bring the clutch up, then the clicking goes away, but the engine still won't start. I think it could be: Battery - enough to give me electrics, but not to start. Fuse - given the "weirdness" I was having earlier Starter. Any ideas? Help!! |
Re: 2002 Civic - won't start Sounds like your alternator is not giving out enough juice to power everything you have running.. Subsequently it drains the battery which leads to the clicking noise you're hearing, which would mean your alternator is probably about to, or already has, die. Your car has a little voltage sensor, and if the battery voltage is too low, it won't try to turn over the starter, and you'll just hear the clicking sound. Get it over to Autozone and have them test it and the battery for starters. |
