12v accesory outlet....

is there a way to wire it so that it doesn't shut off? ya know like most new cars that have accessory outlets that don't turn off after the engine is shut off. so that you can charge your phone?

Run a wire straight from the battery to you the positive side of the outlet, then a wire to ground. Make sure you put a inline fuse on there.

That would be stupid to run a wire from the battery all the way to the 12v socket when you can just cut the +12v wire off on the 12v accessory socket and tape it away. Then tap from the +12v CONSTANT on your stereo deck and run it to where the 12v ACC wire was on the 12v socket. Then you have constant 12v at the accessory socket. Now if you're going to be using ton's of stuff on that socket, ie. and inverter and stuff, then you should run a wire from the battery to the socket as you wouldn't want to overload the factory wire harness that was supposed to only be running your stereo...
