Best Coilovers for the Money?

Best Coilovers for the Money?

I'm looking for a coilover that would give a good ride, not be bouncy and not cost an arm and a leg........ones like Ground Control and stuff like that.

RedDragon333 04-08-2002 06:01 PM

I hear that Ground Controls are the best for the money.....thats what im going for

mwwhonda 04-08-2002 07:41 PM

do u want coilovers (tien, h&R, etc.)? or do you want adjustable springs (ground control, skunk2, obx)....

DaddyFatSacks 04-08-2002 07:43 PM

i'm just looking for adjustable springs.....best ones for the cheapest price.

what's the best...next down from Ground Control.

I will repace the shocks and struts after it.

I'm going more for show than race, but I do want a nice smooth ride quality.

HeRbaLuS 04-22-2002 10:02 AM

what is the difference from ajustable springs and coilovers ???

they both make the car go up the same way ? which one is better and why?

petOr 04-23-2002 10:48 PM

try one of the following.. ground contorl, skunk2, or weapon R

listen to them ground control are the best adjustable springs, they use Eibach.

Ground Controls, then add to them some Koni struts. Then some Ingalls camber kits, some DC Sports strut/tie bars. Works well enough on my ride. :)

azn2k1civic 04-25-2002 05:05 AM

ground controls are the best way to go!

HeRbaLuS 05-13-2002 11:25 AM

i went to my shop and they said that ground controls are horrible and that they are held on by 1 screw or something and that they crack and stuff dont know what parts he was talking about but he said all negative stuff so what is tha real deal on this coilovers .......
maybe it was in the past years on other model cars ...well i'm sure it was.....did GC have a bad name b4 and change up their systems????
i see that everybody in this site loves the GC's and dont see no complaints......tell me what yall think he was talking about .....

i think i wanna get the GC's since they make them for the 2k2 civic

TOOLOWCIVIC 05-13-2002 04:13 PM

As long as you don't drop your car too low it will ride great. If you drop it too low it will blow your shocks and your car will ride like sh!t.

racerdave44 05-13-2002 04:19 PM

Ground controls for sure. I plan on gettin them for mine and everyone i know that has them is happy with them:)

HeRbaLuS 05-13-2002 06:29 PM

hmm i guess when they first came out they were garbage coilovers but guess they got everything in check again

think i might get some because all i hear is good on this site too

Mex 05-14-2002 02:17 AM

I haven't heard any complaints on the Skunk2s.. I may just wait to get a full coilover system

CapYoda 05-14-2002 05:59 AM

I guess ground control is fine. there's plenty other brand name things like ground controls..

a full/true coilover is way better than any of 'em.

cost is up there, but the shocks that comes with a full coilover is designed in mind with the spring being used with.. and the adjustability on those shocks? how does 16 different setting sound? (TEIN) H&R's has 4...

I'll wait for TEIN. its costy. but yeah. I think thats best. plus by the time it comes out, and for the price to be reasonable, my stock shocks would have been pretty worn... or maybe I wont even have my car anymore. who knows. lol.

if you want all out, no compromise, go for a full coilover.

GC aren't all that, next to TIEN or Endless, etc. (course price difference is like 3x)

slam2k1civic 05-14-2002 09:54 AM

For the price get the dropzone. springs $116.00 coilovers $149.00

HeRbaLuS 05-14-2002 01:45 PM

dropzone never hear people giving props about those coilovers .....

CustomCreations 05-14-2002 02:06 PM

I have Skunk 2 coilovers and they ride great. I was wondering what you have for your short shifter. My email is customcreationautosports_@hotmail.com
