41 lbs each

15's.. steel with hubcaps..

that is pretty heavy for 15's....

I weighed them yesterday while installing my Injen RD CAI..

i thought they only weighed like 26 pounds. im glad u weighed them so we know how crappy the really are

those rims prolly as tough as buddylee

Anyone know what the cdn si rims weigh?

I got steelies on my EX. Reason is probably because I informed the dealer that I really didn't want alloys. I was going to switch them to rims anyhow. That lowered the price some several hundreds.

but yes, 41 lbs. 15 inch.

41 lbs....damnnnnnnnnn...I guess some light weight rims would really help the acceleration times. Geez..I didn't know they were that heavy. I wonder how much the tire weighs itself..

canadian si gets rims but the us ex gets 15" steelies

that's some heavy ish! I can't wait to get some nice 17"s that weigh at least half of that. dang.

Hmmmm and i thought getting 17s would make us slower...
anyone kno how much the 14" steelies weigh?

Yeah, I think 42 lbs would be with the tire on the rim 'cause the rim only ways around 20lbs alone

[IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/IMG] with or without tires? if 15" steelies are 20lbs each, then that's not bad because 15" tires are lighter than 17". so in the big picture, slightly lighter 17" or 18" alloy rims with tires will come out to be just as heavy due to the heavier tires.

Is this a true statement or not??? I think this thread has confused me more than its helped!

that is just my assumption. common sense tells me that a tire that is wider and bigger in diameter with more surface area is heavier. but someone who is sure please clarify.

most 17" tires weigh 17-22lbs, plus a 18-22 lbs wheel, you get 36-44lbs, almost the same as stock.
