how hot do you have to get them for powder coating. might kill the oil in the shock

^ very true. You need to fake and bake to powder coat.

Powdercoating is quite hot.... if you think about it.. you need to fuse the coating together and bond it to the metal... not to mention that to spray the powder and make it stick, you need to electrically charge (many thousand volts) whatever you're spraying it on. 2 process your shocks won't like. Just paint em, but cover the working parts real well.

Yeah I think the powdercoating is like 1200 to 1600 degrees farenheit. I could be wrong though.

just got off phone with my dad 400 plus or numis

better yet, take it to a body shop and just get it sprayed with car paint. should be a lot more durable then household/spray paint.

Logan3024 01-24-2005 07:33 PM

why would you do that? whos going to be looking at your shocks, you cant even see them.

Kohburn 01-25-2005 08:06 AM

why not por15 them.. about the toughest heatless coating you can use
