crappy 97 civic wont pass inspection ok guys im in need of a good mechanic or some gas and a lighter.... i purchased the car and had an engine swap done on it... now comes time to inspect it and the check engine light is on.... i think when the swap took place the mechanic put an older engine in it so the engine might not be obd2... anyhow the car runs great but i am getting 2 codes from the computer... one is p1337 and the other is p1509... does anyone have any ideas?? thanks |
Re: crappy 97 civic wont pass inspection Look up the codes. |
Re: crappy 97 civic wont pass inspection the codes are 1. IAC valve circuit failure 2. CSF sensor no signal |
Re: crappy 97 civic wont pass inspection iac valve is located on the throttle body and has coolant lines going into it. its for idle air control. if it failed, you can try to take it off and clean it, but it could just have died and needs a new one. csf i have never heard of. |
Re: crappy 97 civic wont pass inspection Sounds like some of the wiring wasn't done properly on the swap. P1337 - CKF No signal in the Crankshaft Speed Fluctuation (CKF) sensor circuit P1509 - Could be any of the following... IAC valve mechanical malfunction Throttle body clogged port, improper adiustment lntake manifold gasket leakage Intake air hose loose leakage Vacuum leak ECT sensor incorrect output Throttle Position sensor incorrect output |
Re: crappy 97 civic wont pass inspection yeah... im stumped by the ckf thing... as for the iac, it just started hunting for idle and is doing so between 1500 and 2000 rpm's... if i unplug the throttle position sensor it stops and idles fine??? |
