would use the holes the screw inserts left behind and would go no deeper.
Wow, that wasn't what I had pictured in my head LOL

The mounting holes in the CVS valve are much smaller than that, you'd need to enlarge I guess?

Yes. Perhaps add a washer too.

Re: Inherited 2005 EX Special Edition. Preparing to sell.

I took the poor man's approach and wire-brushed the seams of the CVS valve, washed, dried, and sealed it. The next day a soap bubble test showed no bubbles. I left the screws corroded to the inserts and epoxied it it back in place.

I cleared the P1457 code. I've driven it twice, and using my bluetooth ODB link and the Torque app I could watch the emissions tests Complete. The "Evaporative Sys" test was "Incomplete" up until just this morning's commute. But now it's "Complete". No engine light.
So I've fixed the P1457 problem... right?

Completed a test is not the same as passed the test.

You can have a monitor test status of "complete" even with a failure and a hard code.

The system has to run and pass the test at least twice in a row.

If it ran the test during a drive cycle and failed, there should be a pending or temporary fail code stored. (some scanners can't read temporary codes, and others can)

If it fails the test again on the second (enabling) drive cycle it would code at that time and turn on the CEL.
