project headlight question http://www.speed-element.com/catalog...o_hl_amber.jpg hi... i bought those projectors and installed them...one question...the bulb more like the peanut bulb/168 oem stock headlight socket does not fit in ...so atm, everything im driving with light and indicators, my extra bulb don't work in it... how do i fix this? any help.. i have a 2001 civic ex (si in canada)... |
Re: project headlight question 2 Attachment(s) i used to have those. the oem turn signal and park light socket/bulb (7443) should fit in the main hole and work as both park and turn like it does already in the oem light. the tiny park bulb also has a place on the side but is not necessary. i left it out cause i think it looks better just as a single bulb. if the oem socket is loose, grab an extra o-ring and double it up. Attachment 105150 Attachment 105151 |
Re: project headlight question yea...its the tiny bulb...it has 168 beside it on the light backside... that dont fit... wats an o ring and how does it look like... can i put HID in my projector lights....i heard its okay to do it cause hid is cooler....but my projector housing back says do not put in hids....??? |
Re: project headlight question im used to calling it a peanut bulb... http://img29.imageshack.us/i/0231043headlight480.jpg/ in this picture ...BULB 1...the socket for that does not fit in the aftermarket light... |

Re: project headlight question If you aim them properly, you can get away with it. I had HIDs in halogen projectors without ever blinding anyone on the road. I now have an HID retrofit, and the light output is a million times better, and I still don't blind people on the road.

Umm, if the manufacturer is telling you not to use hid's, why would you think you can/should. Coolness is only one factor to consider, you have to be able to see at night without blinding other drivers on the road. |
Re: project headlight question My socket for my blinker doesn't fit for those headlights ...any ideas. I can't track one down. |
Re: project headlight question try sedan sockets instead of coupe with a double o-ring on it. |
Re: project headlight question I have a sedan. They are too big. the blinker is the only problem. the headlights came with sockets in them, but the conector for the blinker is completely different then the one on my car. |
Re: project headlight question if they go in and are loose, maybe put a lil bit of silicone around the socket. just enough that you can break it loose to change the bulb, but it will hold in place. |
