What would happen if you were to... I suppose everyone is familair with the CryO2 system from DEI? It is a CO2 system that has a mounted intercooler sprayer that sprays a CO2 mists in front of your intercooler for colder air induction into your turbo. http://www.designengineering.com is where its located. Anyways here is my question. What would happen if you were to take this system and mount an injector into your CAI? That speaking if you didn't have a turbo kit? Would it be the same as a NOS system? I am in NO WAY a techy guy and I was just curious if a system like this could be done this way? Colder air get better combustion right? So would this be a good thing or a thing you should stay the hell away from because it would screw up your engine? |
I think nx already makes a kit that sprays into the intake you may want to check that out first instead. |

Gasoline needs oxygen to burn. If you inject Nitrous, you increase the level of Oxygen allowing for a cleaner burn, resulting in more power. Plain ole oxygen won't work because it's too flammable and would explode If you inject CO2 you decrease the amount of oxygen, resulting in less fuel burn than normal, causing a reduction in power. |

yes that is correct. and if your intake is dirrectly behind your intercooler you may still suck some co2 into the intake making it less effective. |

Uh...CryO2 has a intake system for those without a intercooler. It's their cyrogenic intake system. http://www.designengineering.com/pro...asp?m=sp&pid=4 A metal ball is fitted inside between the intake pipes similar to how you would install a bypass filter. The Co2 is supposed to cool the ball which in turn chills the airs going into the intake. Go buy it, give it a try, and tell us how it goes. |
i think it doesn't cool the ball itself...i think the ball is like a blocking mechanism like the ones used in the water dispensors for rats and ginea pigs. the pipe is a double layered, where the outside layer circulates cold co2, and the inner layer is where the intake air passes through. that makes it pretty efficient |
