Window tinting...

Hey, I plan on tinting my windows tomorrow and i was wondering if anyone has already done it on our 7th gens and has any tips for me. I thought about taking the door panel off to make it easier near the bottom but i don't know if it will help or not. Please help. Thanks.

leave the door panel......

of course weve done it.. lol. Make sure you know your states tinting laws, and if u decide to break em, be ready to put up with cops pullin u over. The darker the better it looks, in my opinion.,

I dont think you need to take off your door panel. My tint shop folds down the lower rubber in the glass and that gave them a good enough clearance to tint all the way down. And be sure your tint shop tints over the 3rd brake light because it looks much cleaner.

Did you plan on doing it yourself? or taking the door panels off so its easier for the shop to do? I would not recommend doing it yourself at all, no matter how careful you are it won't be as good as a shop. And if you're having a shop do it, then no you don't need to take the panels off.

I actually just got pulled over yesterday for the first time for my tints after I've had them for a year. Cop got his little tinting detecting device out and it read 13.5%. He told me the legal limit was 75%. But he let me go without anything cause I had a pba card so he was cool.

Did you mean 7.5 and not 75? Cuz if your tint was 13.5 and the limit is 75%, he's got no reason to bitch.

the higher the percent, the lighter the tint

leave door pannel.
get the life time warrenty on the tint.
wash windows with water or a alcohol and water mixture
and hope you got A/c for the next five days.

i think he means percentage of light coming through so it would be 75% tint or 25% of the light being blocked. so 13.5 would mean 86.5% of the light is being blocked.

Is there such tints as 75%? Cuz that sounds super light. Think the lightest i can get at the tint shop is something like 40%.
