two way valve? i have an 89 civic lx, and i was having problems starting it. i decided i was going to change the fuel pump because everything else seemed fine, and i wasnt hearing the whirring sound it makes when the ignition is engaged. anyway, while trying to put the gas tank back it, i broke a piece on the two way valve for a hose that runs up to the front of the car. i only know the name of it because in the haynes manual it is pointed out, and thats what they called it a honda civic supply website where i bought a new one. my question is, what does this thing do? it doesn't look like a complicated piece, and it doesn't look like it has moving parts. just curious because i cant find any information on it, and all the auto parts stores didn't carry it or didn't even know what it was. any input will be appreciated. |

Re: two way valve? ok i see. that is actually the website where i ordered the part from. thank you. |
Re: two way valve? When fuels vapor pressure in the fuel tank is higher than the set value on the two way valve, the valve opens and regulates the flow of fuel vapor to the canister (filter) near the engine. |
