when its really cold out side, n u first start ur car, it shoots up to that much.....then it should die down in a min or so.....

is urs ALWAYS doing that, or just cold starts?

beadebaserr 01-16-2007 11:03 PM

even if it's cold out, I don't think it should ever shoot up THAT high...

TeLLy 01-16-2007 11:22 PM

Does it shoot up there and stay there or does it fluctuate? Check your PCV and IACV.

ps it's spelled IDLE, I just had to correct that.

^^X2 (TeLLy, you're my idle.)

I want to audition for Canadian Idle. Really I would just sit there with a low hum and vibrating slightly.

spoonEM 01-17-2007 12:49 AM

Ill bet its in the IACV....check that first....just like Telly said. hahah

sl33pyriceboi 01-17-2007 03:05 AM

also, check ur brake booster......i remember when i forgot to plug back my BB from seafoaming....... my engine shot up like 4k n then idled at like 2k.... (that whole day)

carlosp38 01-17-2007 05:51 AM

i mean i use to like idel at 3000 rmpm but it would go down after like a couple minutes but we have left the car on for about like 10 min or so and it does the same thing ... if the car doesnt have enough oil can that affect it ?

blouisgod 01-17-2007 07:36 AM

its your IAC. get some throttle body cleaner and clean it.

You could've left a vacuum hose disconnected
