2001 Honda Civic Ex coupe 87 regular unleaded 80% city driving + AC = 28mpg when i took my trip 95% highway driving + AC = 38mpg Stock |
2003 EX coupe auto 45k regular 87 octane mostly highway, I drive kinda fast but not a hard accelerator - 80'ish mph avg. almost always use a/c get about 330 until the low fuel light on most fuels, get 340-360 on bp fuel. If it's 100% highway I expect 360 out of it. Stock everything mechanical. Oil changed at dealer, whatever stock oil type is. |
Some of you guys get really good mileage! Dang.. my car has been well maintained, and I'm the only owner.. it's clean, nicely driven, always changed oil.. wonder why I am not getting the milage of the others. Must be the occasional road rage/more aggressive driving style? I am jelous of these 03's getting over 400 miles on one tank.. I don't even dream of that, 360 makes my day a happy one! hehe :) |
the only way to get hi mileage is with constant freeway driving, not alot of accessories on, using cruise, around 65mph or 55. In the city, I only get around 20-24mpg. |

fill up 4 gallons at a time if you can. Better mileage with 50lbs less weight. |
2005 EX SE 5 SPD Manual 33-34 for entire 8,000 miles that are on it mostly 50-50 driving. 5w-20 Mobil 1 after breakin period. Doesn't seem to matter what I do I always get the same mileage. I haven't been on any long trips to see what it will get on all highway but I would hope it would get closer to 40. |

MPG or milage per tank. He told us about his car, but not what kind of fuel mileage he is getting. |
52,403 ~ 34-36 MPG 2001 Civic Coupe 5 speed 87 regular Uh, I am probably a spirited driver with Autox's once a month for 10 months. I don't beat the carp out of it, but I also dont' drive like a granny. Half city, half highway miles Intake, header, exhaust, IK20s 5w-20 Amsoil synthetic |
I have an 02 ex coupe automatic and I am lucky if I can get 300 Miles to a tank, there is definetly something wrong? I have 18"s, and I think they may have effected it. |

(see past posts in this thread for car and driving style info) I went on a little drive and gassed up at an interstate Mobil station this past weekend. I drove all the miles in one day, and it was 95% on the highway, about 5% on back country roads around 45-50mph with few stops. Somehow I pulled 407.8 miles out of one tank of regular before the low fuel light came on. I stopped very soon to fill up after seeing the light and the car would only take 9.28gal. I think the gas I refilled with was foaming up, and there was open space that could not be filled in the tank. If the tank were actually full, I would have gotten 43.94mpg on that trip! It is the BEST I've ever seen out of the civic as far as mileage goes. I know a lot is attributed to constant driving without the acceleration, the weather probably helped.. and who knows.. maybe fluke gasoline that was extra good? Previously 360mi was about the best I could hope for, now I have seen it go beyond +40 miles of what I thought was the best it could do. I'm not saying yet that Mobil gas is greatest, but I am certainly going to try it again and see if my mileage stays high. I was shocked when it hit 400 and even more when it kept going past 400. It's a good thing, especially now.. last week it was $3.59 for regular here.. today it's 2.99 in a lot of stations. I guess that is somthing to be happy about? sad, eh? |
