Noisy clutch return spring
Yah, Yah, Yah.... I know, it's been posted before. I WD-40ed it and it didn't do a damn thing. Still squeaking every time I push it in. Is there any thing else I can use? I'm thinking of slobbering lithium grease all over it, but I don't want to make a mess if I don't have to, nor do I want to waste my time with the dealer.
Suggestions please....
Suggestions please....
I have this problem too and it's damn annoying. And it's not squeaking from anywhere near the clutch pedal inside the cabin (at least not on mine)... So I don't think spraying and greasing the pedal will fix anything.
If you pop the hood and have someone else pump the clutch, you will hear the sound quite clearly coming from somewhere between the engine and the radiator... at least that's how it is on mine. So I'm guessing that the parts that need lubing are somewhere deep within the clutch flywheel (?) mechanism close to the engine... which is outta reach for simple DIY lubing.
Let me know if this is where your squeak is coming from too.
I actually had the dealer do the TSB for me for the squeaking clutch problem. But it didn't get rid of the sound. I think this is sound is something unrelated to that TSB.
(I hate going to the dealer too... nuts to have to leave the car there for a whole day for something simple like this.)

1.5 hours? Do they have to take apart the entire clutch mechanism to re-pack the bearings?
edit: So this problem is definitely unrelated to fix described in the squeaking clutch TSB?

This just happened to me. I'm only at 9,000 miles so I brought it back to the dealer and they tried the TSB but it didn't cure the squeak. So they replaced the clutch master cylinder and now it doesn't squeak. Couple of the techs asked where I bought my headlights (told them DIY cleared) and they said it looked good, so that felt pretty cool.

Hey Boiler: not sure if you still have this interior clutch noise, but I've had it for over a year too ... it was a squeaking and scratching sound that drove me nuts... even more than the clutch squeaking from the engine bay. But anyways, I recently fixed it
Take off the panel below the steering wheel. Lie on your back and crawl underneath the steering wheel area to look up at the clutch mechanism. If you pump the clutch slightly with your hand, you will see a metal tube moving in and out of the firewall. Just spray that part (and all other moving parts while you're at it) with liberal amounts of silicone (use a rag to catch the drips). I then coated all the moving parts with all-purpose grease to seal it in.
Now the inside clutch squeak and scratching is completely gone. Feels much smoother too.
