Cool '01 Civic EX

Hey, this is my first post, I'm new to the forums. I've had this Civic EX quite a while now, but now I'm thinking of tricking it out. I'm new to this whole modding thing, but I heard about the big 3 (intake/header/exhaust). What are the best I/H/E I can get for my car? Anyways, if there are other parts that you recommend getting, that'd be great. Thanks in advance.

P.S.: Sorry I'm so noobish.

From Alaska, I would not recommend a Cold Air Intake. I would not recommend one for any climate that is cold and wet.

Personally, the headers are not worth it unless you go with a full header. The gains for the 7th gen have proved to be small, but a good intake and a cat back should give you the most power for the buck. After that, you are probably going to see small if any improvements until you drop the big money.

I'm not doubting anyones word or anything, but what's a better exhaust system? The Tanabe one or the GReddy one?

Lots of people will say Tanabe, lots will say GReddy. For the gains you'd notice, I'd say its more a personal preference.

the difference between the greddy and the tanabe beside the Tanabe outperforming it (not by much on our cars) is that its all stainless steel and wont rust after a few years like most other systems where only the muffler is stainless steel and the Tanabe has a greeat look and sound.

I see, does it have a nice, deep tone to it? I don't really like anything loud. Anyways, what's a nice shock/spring combo for our cars?

I looked at Greddy exhaust today. C'mon man, that canister is freaking huge, it looks like trash can. Cant belive peepz would spend so much money on that. Get whatever you want man. I personally think that not all of us should get Tanabe or Greaddy. I mean it would suck if everybody with 7th gen got Tanabe. Everywhere you would go, you would hear the same exhaust on 7th gen. Get whatever you like, but since you live in place where im sure it snows a lot , go with full stainless steel exhaust..like...Tanabe Plus, you get that cool, red & black RACING - SUPER MEDALLION sticker

Don't waste your time with exhaust and header...The gains will be minimal and your car will just be louder...I would focus on suspension and get TEIN SS, and a nice set of lightweight wheels, and then save for a turbo...I have an Tanabe Exhaust and and INJEN CAI, and my car is more loud, and has a little bit more power...NOT WORTH IT!! Save for SFpower's kit and then get a custom 2.5 exhaust once you have the turbo.
