Idle RPM may be too low. Is it like at 500rpm?

It should be around 750-800rpm.

Adjust the throttle cable (see DIY section)

Mine idles fine at 600, since the day I got it 2 years ago. 800 seems kinda high... may use more gas too.

Mine is at 600 and it shakes like a ****.

It could be the oil no? This cheap generic oil makes the engine sound so harsh.

I used to idle at 500 with Mobil 1 Synthethic Blend without any rough shaking.

The brand of oil shouldnt make much of a difference and as long as its the right viscosity. Could be that your TPS(trottle position sensor) is marginal, or even your CTS(coolant temp sensor). I've even read that it could be your ECU code needs to be updated. Have you tried resetting the ECU? Disconnect your negative battery cable for a few minutes and reconnect it. Right down your radio stations if you care. There's a section in the owners manual that tells you how to properly do this so your ECU re-learns your driving style. Mayb not fixe it, but worth a try.

All you guys probably have 2001 civics. I heard that ECU unit is messed up on some of them. My advice, if the car does not shut down, keep on driving, if it does - take it to the dealer and the first words out of your mouth should be WTF!
Good luck
