N/A power, no FI

Guys, was just wonderin, if I don't go FI, what can I do to the engine to get some major power gains? I heard cam shafts, cam gears, bigger throttle body, fuel injectors, fuel rails, new block or port old block, higher compression forged pistons (can we get 11:1 compression pistons for our cars?), forged piston rods, stuff like that...any suggestions? what would be most important? what are the risks? i heard head work may cause certain "problems"

Call John at KMS...He has done a N/A 7th gen that is supposed to push over 200whp. I seen the car personally and heard the idle. It's awesome. Here's the link:http://www.honda-performance.com/ He'll tell you what he knows about our cars

well one big "problem" is i dont think half the stuff you listed is even out for our cars, last i heard all we had were forged pistons and stronger rods. dont think the rest of that stuff exists for a D17.

Edlebrock won't just make you custom cam shafts and a throttle body. They would probably consider it if enough people voiced their desire and then they may consider it. You could try to get them, or a like company, to make you a one-off model, but be prepared to spend lots and lots of $$.

your right on the pulleys, pistons, rods. i'm sure they have those out but as far as i know, no camshafts, throttle bodies, AEM doesnt make a fuel rails for us, and no fuel injector. a lot of stuff IS out for our cars but just not the engine, i hope that changes soon though.

thank you Da2k1! Im glad that someone knows that the D17 doesnt have cam shafts...but only a cam shaft! Unless a bunch of people have done K20A2 swaps that i dont know about.
Thats what im doing to get that kind of power. 200whp is much easier with that motor...(intake, Hondata ECU, exhaust, race header..thats it). If that isnt enough, they have way more parts for the K20 motor then for the D17...so i would save your money and just do that. I dont know how much money KMS spent to get 200whp...but its probably around the price of a motor swap anyway ($5000).

$3500 ... I wish i was rich.
It would take me a year to save that much.
By then I wouldn't want to spend all of it on a motor, then need to save up for more darn bolt ons.
Id probly buy the favrable CRX with a B18 DOHC.
+ $300 NOS. BAM ... 200 whp + sum.
Throw in a cherry bomb, one loud can of whoop a$$ !
