civic struts

I keep hearing about how the 01 and 02 civics have such crap struts. what im wondering is if its still the same deal with the 03's. I haven't heard anything about them. you would think with all the complaints and problems that they would have fixed it for the new 03. and roughly what kinda mileage have u guys put on for a strut to blow/leak? with or without a drop?
thanks

Dude, I blew out three in less than 15000 km's! I think I heard that they were redesigned for '03 but don't quote me on that. I wrote this big letter to Honda about it and they said they were aware of it. The replacements I have in now are '03's and they have been great. Although it's almost time to get Tein's..he he he!

I can't remember the address but it's on the Honda.ca webpage for Customer relations.
I basically just told them that I am huge fan of the car and about the club and the difficulties I had with the struts. Honda didn't change the struts because of the letter, they changed them because the dealership agreed that they were leaking. If you get yours changed they will put 2003's in it.

took my car in the other day, approximatly 20000 kms on it. my fronts were diagnosed as leaking although i didn't notice any leaking at all. taking my car in to have them replaced on monday. i just hope the back stuts don't start leaking too.

Hey HIGHLYreflective, your rears are shocks due to the fact that the rear suspension is double wishbone. The front is MacPherson Strut. The rears will be fine.
