My car just scared my pants off

So I'm driving back to school after being home this weekend. I'm almost back and I look down at the oil pressure. I'm doing 60 MPH, and the gauge is reading 10 PSI. Anyone who has an Oil Press. gauge knows that's grounds for screaming profanity so loud they hear it in the next county. So I pull off to look, I look under the hood, no oil to be found, dipstick still fine, nothing dripping. So I shut the car off to try and reset it. Now it reads 0. Well, that's better. now my heart can come out of my throat since I know its the gauge not the car (the idiot light never came on). Keep driving, get to my apartment and triple check the wiring.... the sender is busted... after 4 months. I don't know what the hell is wrong with it, but it isn't sending a signal. Does anyone know the autometer warranty off hand? I don't have the gauge papers down here. I think I remember it being a year, but I'm not sure. Can anyone suggest anything else that it could possibly be besides the wiring, that is stupid and I didn't think of?

No pillar. DIY aluminum panel in the lower dash. Gauges came from www.jegs.com

The thing that made it seem worse is that I was autocrossing today... so there really was the possibility that I broke something.

Spazbitte is an unknown quantity at this point
Most meters always come with a One Year Warranty and with Electronics always check your grounds and see if they came loose but it sounds like its a messed up gauge and you fried a chip or gate.

Sigh of relief... the sender is busted. Autometer had me put an ohm meter on it and the resistance isn't varying.... so the gauge isn't working. They're sending me a new one with no problems.
