Help! Aero sides install...

Okay guys, I need your help. I want to install my Aero sides [soon!], but I am missing a part called a 'template'. Click here to see what the part looks like. Those are the installation instructions as well. If you look thru the instructions, I need the template to mark the side of the body to stick the 'plates' on.

My questions are... Do I really need this part to install the kit? If so, does anyone have one that they are willing to give to me? If not, how am I going to install it?

I'm hoping that those who have the Aero sides reads this thread. But any suggestions from anyone is greatly appreciated!

Actually I did ask them and one of them said they don't know what I'm talking about, another said we don't sell that part seperately, and another said we don't have that part. That kinda pissed me off, so I gave up on the Honda dealership.

Hmm... I didn't ask the place I got it from, but I will do that. I'll let you guys know. Thanks!

yeah, the dealer has no idea what that is..i had the same problem when i put my oem sides on..tried going to the dealer cuz i didnt have the plates or the templates..and they had no idea how i could get that..other than ordering a new set of sideskrits...so i just used 3m tape and window weld instead..works like a charm!..the only thing i could suggest if u dont find any is just eyeball it and carefully try n do it all freehand.

Yah, I'll probably do that.

I asked the dealership how much they would charge for labor to install the sides for me (I only asked for my info, of course I'm going to do it myself). And they quoted me $162.40!!! WTF?! They're Nucking Futz! Anyway, I talked to Greg at Hondawerx.com about this and he said that Honda usually forgets to include that part in. I'm guessing it's because they figure that Honda would install it for the customer anyway. Thanks Greg! If any of you bought products from Hondawerx.com, then you know how helpful and loyal Greg is.

Thanks again guys for your suggestions!

Thanks dragoon!

Just noticed that almost everyone in here has either OEM or Aero on their car.

I've never seen the Aero sides on an EBP though. Guess I'll find out when I put mine on. Zaskar2k1 and dragoon have the same setup I'll have. OEM front and rear with Aero sides.

Thanks again guys!

Cool, I'm not the only one that noticed this. I'm doing the same to my car as well. Still waiting for my Aero sides though (from Handa-Accessories), hopefully mine will come with the template. Let me know how your install goes, thanks.

Azure, don't worry about it. I just installed my OEM aero sides yesterday (piece 'o cake). You don't need the template at all, eyeing was so easy. When placing it just make sure the top of the clips line up with the top part of the underside where it is just starting to angle down. I'll post pics later, but it was a breeze I did it in 45 minutes. FYI, if you have 17+" wheels you'll have remove them to get to the screw in back of the wheel well, since turning them won't give you enough room (unless you have one of those bent phillips screwdrivers). Just PM me if you want more help/info. Good luck, I'm sure you'll be abkle to install them easily too.

And posts pics for those of us who need help installing the Aero sides like nightkids1. Post them in this thread, if possible. If not, send them to me please: cmarquez_57@hotmail.com . Thanks!

Jmoney - Thanks! You got EBP too? Cool! I'm pretty sure they'll look bada$$... just like how they look on the rest of the colors.

SkiLLzSter - Will do! I haven't seen Aero sides on other colors than the ones you've mentioned either. But that'll change tomorrow! (Actually... today!)

Damn that sucks dude. But good luck though!

Okay guys. I finished installing the kit!!! It looks pretty clean! It's missing some RIMS to go with it! I'll post the pics tonight if I can. (It's 12:30 pm here in Hawaii right now) I'll probably make another thread in the Members Ride forum. I'll post in here to let you guys know what the thread will be called so you guys can go and check it out!

I basically just did what NorrinRadd said to do and it worked like a charm!

Thanks again guys and I'll keep you guys updated with the pics for sure!

Azure, congrats on your install Sorry I wasn't able to post or send you pics (I was out of town on emergency unfortunately). I'm glad it worked out for you and glad my limited instructions helped. Definitely post pics, I'll post mine as well, but I'd really like to see them on an ebp (haven't seen them on ebp's too much). Again, congrats, it was pretty easy huh (so easy I still can't believe some body shop would charge $100-$200 for it)?
