help: install Neuspeed strut bar
no prob. removing these nuts, but after put that Neuspeed Upper Strut bar in place, how am i going to torque these nuts to 33 lbs as from Neuspeed DIY. If i dont do it right, is that means I gonna mess up my front alignment?
thanks,
thanks,
just go buy a torque wrench from Sears for 30 bucks (that's what i did), it will come in handy for more jobs than this one.... but i don't think putting those bolts to the wrong torque will affect your alignment, just as long as they are tight enough to hold it all together you should be fine until you can buy/borrow a torque wrench
i've had my neuspeed strut bar on for a month now without making sure it's torqued the right amount. it's not bad for the car if it's close enough (just do it til it "feels" tight
). i have to say, though, since i put it in, i've been hearing a little vibration in the low RPMs (~1500-1750). hopefully it'll go away when i torque it down more. i suggest doing it right from the beginning; then you won't have to deal with this vibration (if it is in fact the strut bar, which i'm pretty sure it is)......

thanks all you guy's opinions.
what do you think if i go to tire shop and ask them to install the strut bar for me, cuz they are using AIR torque, how much they charging for?
hassoomi:
did you felt any good on this neuspeed upper strut bar? good control than before?

uhhhhh, i'm not really sure
. hehehe. i didn't have my car for that long before i put it on, and i hadn't really taken the turns that hard. i started cornering hard AFTER i put it on, but i "think" it helps. i'm pretty sure it does; almost everyone here that has it will say so.
and btw, just install it yourself. i know absolutely NOTHING about cars and i just got a couple friends to help me put it on. true, it takes i tiny bit of jacking up the car, but it's really pretty easy (make sure it's the DRIVER side that you jack; it says so in the instructions). good luck. let me know if you need any more info

I would not have it air torqued. That is way too much! Just buy a torque wrench or tighten it untill you can't tighten it anymore. Mine has been fine and never has been torqued to 33lbs. And you shouldn't have to jack up the car. Just pull the 4 bolts off, put the bar on and put the bolts back on!
I had to jack mine up slightly so I could relocate my transmission fluid reseviour, but I think you only need to do this if you have an '01 civic.
definately do not have it air torqued.
I love mine, it definately firms up the car when changing lanes at high speed and helped eliminate some body roll.

anyone got some pic for neuspeed upper strut bar on 2k2 civic?
today I tried to put it on, but both side strut is not straight up to setting in place, what i means is if I set strut on passenger side first, then driver side must use "force" to align over studs to fit. Its so tight, strut bar is touch back of thing, see pic~
Is this normal for eveyone got neuspeed, my is 2002 LX coupe.

yeah that's normal, line up the passenger side and maybe even have someone hold it down while you force the other side into place.... this pre-loads some tension in the bar and helps firm everything up. once you have it all jerked into place, just keep pushing on it until it's flush. then bolt it down and you are good to go!
