Girl needing car help!

Just had my Progress rear sway bar installed and now my exhaust tube (Thermal R & D exhaust) is vibrating on the sway bar! It sounds like crap and I am not sure if I could get any type of welding done to help this- ANYONE who has had this problem or any suggestions, I really do not want to take it off, it really helps w/ my suspension

Take it to a muffler shop and ask them to bend the Exaust pipe away form the sway bar.

For a ghetto fix buy some muffler tape and wrap it around the area where its rubs.

i say whatever works . putting something to stop the rattle isnt going to hurt the car or anything, its just going to save you time/money so why not..

I've got the same problem, but it only rattles when first starting up in the morning. After warm-up, no rattle. I would also recommend taking it to an exhaust shop.

Mig the reason is when your car is cold the pipe is probably touching the bar ... when it gets warmed up ... the heat causes the pipe to expand ... changing its path and makes it not touch the car.

This is similar to the TSB for the 2001 civics with the "b" pipe in the exhaust rattling against the frame. It happened when people would drive and hit a puddle ... The rapid compression of the pipe caused by the cold water hitting the hot pipe, made the pipe touch the frame which caused a huge rattling sound.

I bet if you did the same, your exhaust would rattle again.
