shimmy and vibration.
does any one else have problems with a shimmy in the wheel and brake pedal pulsing alot. my pads are good and rotors not warped but the wheel and brake pedal shimmy and vibrate alot. dealership said there was nothing they could do cause they didnt see anything wrong....what should i do???
These are 2 separate issues that may not be related to each other.
For your shaking: Is your steering wheel vibrating at highway speeds? If yes, then it's just a case of tire balancing.
For your brake pedal pulsing: how do they (or you) know that the rotors are not warped. It's almost impossible to tell with the naked eye. What kinda mileage you got? I can almost guarantee that the pulsing is caused by warped rotors. Just get them resurfaced. Even if your dealer won't do it, it doesn't cost that much at a regular shop.

i checked them with a dial caliper and they didnt ever go over the specs in any spot. the cars got 33 thousand on it and its a 2001. they said they checked it with a meter 2. and the tires wer just balanced
Did your wheel vibration start happening only after your last balancing? If so, then go back and get them balanced again. I've been in a few l situations where I had to go back several times to get my wheels properly balanced.
As for your brakes, like I said, 99% of the time it's warped rotors. Regardless of what a caliper might tell you, resurfacing will just clean the entire rotor and get rid of any hidden deformitites which a caliper might not pick up. Does your problem happen at all speeds, or only when you brake at highways speeds?
And actually, just this past weekend, I got my rotors resurfaced and installed new AEM pads. Brakes now feel great.

Yeah I have a shimmy when I brake at high speeds, It started at about 16,000 miles. I fiqured my rotors were warped because I live in the city and I'm really hard on my brakes with a lot of stop and go traffic. It hasn't seemed to get any worse and I now have 29,000 miles. Just fiqured I would live with the shimmy in the wheel and pulsating brake pedal.
