Question 45 Offset?!??!?!

I'm just wondering if there'll be some rubbing on my car if I put 18" wheels with 45 offset and 215/35/18 tires? I wanna try to bring it as low as possible. Anyone here have that setup?

No, but I have a 45 offset on my 17"x7.5" with 215/45-17's. No rubbing up front. You should be able to actually fit a larger wheel up front, but then again... If you turn with that size tire it almost hits the lower control arm. I guess a 225 would hit and you would rub if you turn all the way and mash the gas. I don't do that on my current setup though just to be careful.

Also, in back the tires rub when the car is lifted up. I.E. when the suspension is in full droop. Otherwise it's fine. So say you hit a huge bump and the rear end comes flying up. It'll rub and mess up your wheels, tires, and car. I had to fix mine a little bit 'cause of this. Nothing bad though. Just some rubberized undercoating. I installed a camber kit and I adjusted the camber so that it takes care of the problem. Although I plan on longer custom rear lower control arms to move the wheels out a little. Then some negative camber and I'm ready to rock.

I am running 215/45/17s with no drop, and there are no problems, even with the car loaded down with passengers and cargo.

My advice? Go with this size of tire with a 1 inch drop at the most. The car will look great, and you will have the extra cushion that the tire can provide. You probably won't bend up a rim with this size of tire.

I bent up all of my rims. LOL I was running the proper pressure too. New England roads suck! That's why I want 16's. Oh yeah, I also cracked a spoke on one of my wheels. Bleh.
