strut problem on the new civic

I don't know if everyone has this problem but I talked to some people at my dealership and they told me that one of the front struts is going bad on alot of the 01-03 civic, and that so many people have had this problem that the struts are on backorder now. When I turn my car all the way to the right it make a poping sound, Iv'e noties this sound for a few mounth but never thought it was a big deal but then I talk to one of the guys I know and they told me it was a strut problem.

I had my fronts done 2 weeks ago. If they blow again, I'm just going to buy Konis. Once and I'll call it a fluke defect, if I get 2 bad sets, I'm gonna be pissed.

hey guys, I tired to check the front struts on my Civic by pushing down the front corners and I've noticed that when I push the left one it wobbles few times up and down. It doesn't happen with other corners. Also I'm gettign that knocking sound when turning the steering wheel. Is it signal to make a call to a service department? I have 10.5K miles only.

I had mine replaced like 2 weeks ago. It is a very large issue and there have been several posts on it. Suppose to be a recall in June.

Really?!? Where did you hear this?

I hope this is true, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Yes, I am waiting for my front struts. They are on back order. My front end bangs every time I hit a hole.....or go down a curb or anything...Drives me crazy.

I am also getting my struts replaced in 2 weeks. This is the first time I have heard of this annoyance. I don't personally mind the poping sound every once in a while though...

Sup guys, I work at a Honda Dealership believe me I've replaced mad front struts on the 7th gens, I just signed up on this forum and recently (last week) purchased a 2003 Civic EX coupe, My 95 hatch is out of commission for a bit so this will be my daily driver, or atleast I keep telling myself this. I havent seen anything about a recall posted on Honda Tech sheets but I'm sure with the mass amounts of complaints something will be done soon.

I'll be sure to do that. I'll be monitoring the Vehicle Issues/problems forum to help out as much as I can. So any questions post em and I'll do my best to answer. Even if I dont know it someone at the shop will, worst comes to worst I can call tech support in Cali for the answers

No recalls only service bulletins. Which means honda has advised us how to correct a re-accuring problem. I'll post any recalls that I come up as soon as I'm informed about them.

Just had mine replaced today on my '01 EX 4dr auto. I noticed the popping sound a while ago and noticed a major change recently. Took the car in for service and the struts were on back order for two weeks. The dealer gave me a loaner car though so I didn't have to drive my car with a bad strut. I've gotten great service from this dealership. Been taking my Hondas to them since 1988.

Yeah I posted about this problem. At first there was a clank when I would go over bump or dip while turning the steering wheel. I also could hear the clank by turning my steering wheel while it was not moving.

Now the suspension is horrible. The front end is real bad and I feel all the bumps. I'm taking it to the dealership as soon as I can.
