Need wheel help. Motegi MR7 or Enkei CDR9's? 17 or 18? NEED OPINIONS PLEASE!
I just bought a 2003 Civic Sedan EX (silver) and love it! I have been shopping for rims for months and am ready to buy now. I am torn between Motegi MR7's and Enkei CDR9's (both silver). Any suggestions? I plan on buying springs or coilovers and dropping it 1.5-1.75 inches. I want to put on 18's with 40 series tires but was not sure if I could still drop it with out any problems occuring. What are the benenfits and negatives to both? Would 17 or 18's be better? Any help I can get on this would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I think you might have some rubbing if you decide to buy 40 series tires with 18's might have to go for 35 series tires (almost positive). I'm not to sure about coilovers and winter unless your storing you car cuz salt makes them erode. I myself regret buying 17's I want 18's now.

Hey man, I have a sedan with goldlines. I just posted problems
I have the motegi MR7's, (17") with 215/45/17 tires...and they rub huge
Play it safe and get 35's if you get 18's. BUT, I would go for 17's. If you run any bigger, you're practically driving on rubber bands. There isn't as much sidewall strength in the tire, so you can actually get better performance out of 17's. But, if style is your bag, hit up the 18's...they do look pretty sweet.
Oh, and buy the MR7's
(not that I'm biased)

If you want MR7s, buy Konig Tantrums... practically the same wheel, but like 7 lbs lighter.
Size depends on a few things...
1. How crappy the roads near you are
2. How much money you've got
3. What your intentions are
The crappier the road, the more tire you're gonna want. Bigger rim usually means less tire. This combo usually doesn't fare to well with pot holes.
18" rims and tires are going to cost more than the same for 17". So it depends how much money you got, and how much of it you want to spend on your shoes.
If you plan to do show, go, or a little of both also plays a part. If all you want is to look good and have no intentions of racing competitively (and legally), then size doesn't matter that much. If you do plan on doing some racing, then you'll want to rule out 18" right away. Also start paying attention to wheel weights and strengths.
There's a lot of factors that are involved. Good Luck.

Hey yall, thanks alot for all the great suggestions. I think I am gonna go with the Enkei's in 18's with 40 series. I am ordering online this weekend so I am still open for other ideas? Any help? Man this site is great. Being in the military I have little time for anything and I am just getting into the import thing. Getting all this feedback from others quit a bit more knowledgable then I on all this is so helpful. Thanks again.
