Lightbulb Autocross Tire Pressure

I dunno where else to put this, so I'm gonna stick it here. I went autocrossing again today and for the first time, I chalked up my wheels to check the roll. Well, anyways, the marks that I had left after a single run scared the crap out of me. I have 40 psi and front and 35 in back. The backs were fine (The chalk went all the way up the sidewall), but in the fron it was gone! On the driver's side, the chalk ended at about the top of the FireStone and on the passenger side it was about halfway through the FireStone. I have the stock tires BTW. My only mod is a strut bar. Anyways, I just wanted to let you guys know. Next time you want to go autocrossing or drive hard, put the fronts up around 45 psi or you'll ruin your tires very quickly.

Note: The course we ran was **** hard with lots of 90's, S's, and a long straightaway for plenty of speed. I was seriously outclasses so I pushed hard and that might be part of the reason my tires rolled so much.

my knowledge towards autocross is very limited, but i can tell you that, make sure u get your tire PSI as high as your tire can take (dont go over the tire specific psi though)

yeah, I put my fronts at 45 and the backs at 40-42. Keep checking them after each run so they don't go over 45psi as they heat up..

What you are seeing is called Tire Rollover, when you corner the tires bend over and destort the contact patch of the tire. the only way you can combat this is by increaceing the tires pressure. However, with high profile tires you can only increase the pressure so much as to not cause a hazerd to the tire. with high profile tires there really not much you can do. But what you see is NORMAL for thoughs types of tires. For autocross I run 40psi in the front and 32 in the back. but I am also Running 205/40ZR17's

Keep raceing, and I would recomend geting a second pair of Wheels/Tires too. It may cost more now, but it will be cheeper in the long.
