Ebay Intakes Good?... Again...
I know this has been talked about a long time before, but it can't be found in the search anymore, so lets bring it back to life.
I remember somebody said that it was the same exact design as the AEM CAI. Its a two piece system, and costs 1/4 of the price of the AEM. I remember somebody had it and said it worked great. Anybody else have any experience with it? I'm considering getting it. You get what you pay for, but its not always about the name brands... Right?

You're right.....
This has been talked about before..
But hey man, do yourself a good favor..
Go with AEM or INJEN because an off brand --- problems down the road, installation, or whenever..
You get what you pay for so basically just get a good brand name and so forth..
Hell, you can get a AEM SRI from adventon for $100..
If you dont wanna spend that much, then i think you are basically gonna get screwed or your a little screwed in the head
Hope this helps!

E-bay no name intakes suck a fat hairy one. I had one and the damn bracket broke on it. I had to weld it back. The rube was too small. The parts were cheap crap. I ended up throwing it out for an Injena nd love the Injen.

some people will tell you its a filter on a stick and then tell you, you get what you pay for
Anyway as said by someone else: "Get an AEM or Injen". The Aem is carb legal, the Injen isn't. Just buy a good product........you wouldn't wear payless shoes???? Would you?

totally go with a new AEM of Ingen!!!! plez just don't waste your money! Half of the time the ECU sensor will not fit on the new intake and then your money is down the drain!!! And you totally get what you pay for!!! and dude you can get the intakes cheap, just buy waiting for group buys and what such! so just hold onto your money for a bit and get something that will last!

look at all the brand huggers here.
some are okay, some are crap, some are the same.
there's one thats literally exact replicate of AEMs in terms of pipping size and design. the filter is also an okay looking one, but most likely not as good quality and layered as AEM's or InJen's filters.
you can replace that easily though.
SOME of the ebay stuff also doesn't come with the necessary tranny bracket that AEM provides for their 5spd application to fit... but any capable mechanic can come up with something to have it fit. I did.
there was one that came with the exact same bracket AEM had... that particular intake cost a bit more, like $100 for a CAI... while the other ones without the mounting bracket cost like $40.
its funny when AEM and InJen doesn't manufacture these in house... they have someone else made it for them...
those ebay ones could be coming from the exact same manufacture, they just slap on crappier filter, leave out some mounting points, and leave off the brand name.
anyhow, if you're just planning to get a SRI.. you might want to consider the ebay ones, cuz they're really not much in difference...
but for a CAI, you may want to invest with the brand name unless you can install one and mount it without any assistance.
its like this, someone paid $200 for an AEM CAI.
I pay $55, and spend another $30 on a K&N Filter, and $5 on hardware to mount it...
the pipe is the EXACT same lenght, size, and design...
difference? $100, and my intake isn't CARB exempt, but whats the big deal when I can just slap my stock one back on, and pass smog.
on another note, InJen's intake are CARB exempt now, you can get the number at www.injen.com
in either case, I'm sticking with my stock box and a K&N drop in filter. heh.

I have the ebay stuff and it works fine. I don't know I guess it all depends on the person. I think it is just a stupid filter with a pipe on it . The AEM looks exactly the same. Why buy something expensive and you don't get the good dyno results anyways. Its all about the sound like some people had said

The intake is good, the filter is good, but meteral that it is made out of, is real cheap. The metal bends wicked easy on it. The reason I am getting a new AEM is the moiunting bracket snapped off the intake one day, so it just sits in the engine bay and flops around. Next time i wont bootleg it, it will just cost more in the long run. So with a name brand to save the hassel.

Alright, thanks guys... I guess the ones with name brands wouldn't consider anything else, and the ones with the "ebay intake" say its good, but made of crappy material.
I've heard that intakes can kill your gas mileage, therefore I may just get the drop in filter. Hey capyoda, is there any noticable difference with the K&N drop in filter?
I want to keep my low end power, therefore I may get the K&N FIPK
The K&N FIPK cost just as much as the CAI's, so I may get the INJEN...
DAMN, so many decisions!!!
Blah, I gotta get my custom exhaust first...
