Nothing like being charged for work I didn't approve... thanks |H| service.
So, I schedule my 02 SiG for some warranty work... drivers' seat loose, front air dam falling off again, tranny / torque lag. They can't find faults with either the seat or the tranny, even though I walked them out the car and showed them the damned seat rocking back and forth. But on top of it all, he says that the infamous rubber air dam was torn, and they replaced it with a new part, clamied it was NOT under warranty, and charged me $30 bucks for the labor.
I'm at 50,000kms and I have a 4yr/100k warranty on the SiG.
Now, I disputed this, since I never signed a work order on the car - but I kinda put myself in a bind. I came to pick it up 10 minutes before closing on a Saturday, the Service Manager wasn't there, and the d00d at the counter wasn't going to release it unless I paid up. On top of it all, I was visiting my son in a town about 30 minutes from my home, so I HAD to get the car back to get home. I told him that I never authorized any of that, and they could damn well take the new part off and give me my keys back. I thought the guy was gonna either punch me or laugh at me. Too bad he didn't do niether - I could sure use a lawsuit and retire off the settlement right about now.
Long story short, what the hell can / should / could I do here? I'm not too well versed in the legislation for British Columbia concerning this, and all I want is my $30 back... and I'll never go to them again. I have all the paperwork - complete except for any signatures from me and NO estimate - so please tell me if I need anything else.
Gimme some advice guys and gals. Danke.

Read this thread and take copies of the TSBs to your dealer.
FuKNGRuVN, it looks like you may have put yourself in a bind, but the dealer still should not have given you that cr*p. For what its worth, I disputed a charge just two weeks ago with a dealer who wanted to charge $97 plus tax for a 10,000 mile service (including oil change). I had left the car the night before and asked for the service, I even signed the form. But when they called me the next day to say my car was ready and it cost over $100, I called the other 2 dealers in town and both said they charged $61 (including oil change). Long story short: I called the service manager, and politely asked him to explain why he charged so much more. He lowered my bill to $67.
By the way, if anyone has had the 10,000 mile service, what were you charged?
