s2000 motors in 2k1 & up civic's
I've heard of a shop near me who wants to put a s2000 motor in a 2k1 civic. Has anyone on this site done that yet? Would it be better to do the rsx type s instead? I've seen the s2000 motor for $3,400. What do you guys think of that? I think s2000 motor is pretty sick, but who's done it?
IMO it won't fit properly... its a bit too big for our bays...and some major modification need to be done to get it to power the front wheels hence the S2K is a RWD car...

You would spend more than an S2000 costs just to get it to work right. It mounts longitudinally, plus the drivetrain wouldn't fit.

The s2000 is entirely different from the civic.
You'd practically have to pull the body off an s2000
and put a civic one on. (exaggerating and oversimplifying
but you get the point)

If someone put the engine in the trunk that'd be insane. Of course its theoretically possible... monetarily possible is another story. I'd wonder if the weak Civic chassis could stand 240hp.

there was the talk about the last gen Tib that used two motors auto tranny on both but one in the front and the other in the trunk PB theoretically its possible but then you enter into the amount of money it wold take to pull it off. Talk about a sleeper tho

The guy told me at rev, sometime about a year ago that he would put a f20c (s2k motor) in my 7th gen and make the mounts, and do all the major work to make it happen for 35k, of course a wonderful proposition, way to damn much money for anyone I know, much less for a guy with 2 jobs.

For 35k I would just buy a s2000. but it would be sick. Think about all the car shows you pulled up to and all the racers who thought you had a ex and try to run with you. My buddy has a s2000 with a Jackson super charger and it is insane. If only dreams came true!
