Speaker suggestions for my amp
Hey all.
I have a Rockford Fosgate 500x
Per channel power - 62.5 W X 4 @ 4 Ohms RMS, 125 W X 4 @ 2 Ohms RMS
I currently have it running my subs but want to make trunk space and use these to power speakers.
What speakers would you recommend with the power that the amp has?
Im looking for 6.5 components up front and 6.5s in the rear.
Budget is about 300-350 total.
Any suggestions guys?
PS. Can the alpine type r compnents handle the 10 extra watts my amp would give it?
Thanks

yes they would
you coudl run sony xplod coaxials on that power
you could run JL xr's of that power
you could run orion HCCA components off that power.
you have unlimited options with that power, basically

Since you said the Alpines can handle the extra power I think I may just get Alpines all around.
BTW, how will the extra power affect the performance? Can I turn the volume up without worrying about blowing sometihng?
Thanks

extra power = not overdriving the amp trying to feed the speaekrs too much power
lets you feed a cleaner signal to the same speaker using the same amplifier.
many people reccommend runnign at least twice rms power to a spaker for this reason, i dont reccommend it here, cause everyone would be blowing things left and right
ive got 1400 rms for my own soundstage, you can bet that my amplifiers arent tuned to put out that much, but the headroom and ultra clean amplifiers by design make sure i have an extreemly nice and still LOUD stage
the extra 10 you can use to your advantage, to keep the gain that much lower and clean up yoru sound a little bit.
