sugestions on good tires for 00 Si wheels
anyone know any good tires for a daily driven sedan with some 00 Si wheels? I am geting the rims later without rubber so i need to plan ahead hopefully. i dont know much about tires and i am just learning about sizes and so on so any help would appreciated. these wheels and tires would be used during the summer and theyve got to be good in the rain and good for street/track racing. any suggestions? theres not much of selection for plus one sizes at discounttire.
another odd question: i cant get a lower profile tire for 15"s can I? so i am stuck with the 205/60-15 fitting huh?
thanks

If you are going to be safe and stay with 205/60-15 to keep your speedometer reading fairly accurate, I'll give you two to consider:
Yokohama AVS ES100 is a good choice for dry/wet traction and they come in this size. If you want to go absolutely dirt cheap, get some
Sumitomo HTR 200's. We have been running them all winter on our red car and they have been great (if you look at the Tire Rack survey, they actually as score high as some of the big boys).
AR, maybe you can ask if anybody on this board has tried to run a 215/55-15 on an Si wheel? That might be your other option

If you go with the smaller Total diamiter tires you will be geting a gearing advantage over stock. as in You will accelerate faster, but you will also have a lower top speed. Great in autocross, not so great for long distance driving (Less gas milage ect ect..)
As far as tires? That depends totally on what you plan on doing with them and how long you want them to last.
on the street I have a set of Falken 512's, Ive run a few autocrosses with them and they are pretty sticky for street tires. The falkens are on par with Kumho's ECSTA SUPRA 712's.
If you want super sticky tires, Kumho Victoracer V700 or the ECSTA V700's are hard to beat for DOT legal tires. Just dont take them any where near water, ice snow....ect A comprimise on those, that will last longer and still be very sticky would be Falken AZENIS, or Michilen Pilot Sports. Kumho is coming out with a tire to compete with the Falkens and Michilens, Its called ECSTA MX suposidly its very sticky. For those with experiance with Kumho, the ECSTA Supra 712's have a tread wear of 360, where as the ECSTA MX has a tread wear of 220 (Mutch Stickyer).
good luck in choosing a tire
