17's are just too big for some roads...
Well, I did this: Massachusetts can kiss my *** twice too!
I am now seriously considering getting some 16's. I'll fix up my wheels and re-paint them and probably sell them off along with the tires. Who knows though, I may end up just repairing them and keeping them.
I drive over some rough roads though at speeds that frequently exceed those dictated by sanity. I need something that will survive more than a few large impacts. Plus 16's would technically perform better than 17's. I have a rather large tire on there too. I've got 215/45's. I've run over some serious bumps before, but I guess I've run into the limits of this combination.
This is sort of a rant, but it's also a tip for those who live where the roads are less than well maintained. Plus the steel belted radial tires of today do not flex as much as you would think. 16's should be plenty big to provide me with the stiffness I need for cornering. I'll have more tire to work with though, so I should be allright when I go over those huge bumps.
Plus if I get something light I should be able to accelerate a little quicker. I see nothing but good coming from this change. Although maybe they'll look a little less "cool". I can live with that though as long as I don't get any more dents in my wheels. Hmm... I guess I should start my search for new wheels.

Buy a set of Mugen MF-8 in bronze or silver, thats a 16" wheel that won't make you look any less cool, but the price may be steep.King motor sports.

I'm actually considering a set of 16" Rota Group-N.

Kinda ugly, but at 12.5lbs in a 15" they're very light for the price. If I decide to get them then I'll probably get the 16's; I don't know how much the 16's weigh though. I've looked all over the net and nada.

those rota rnr rims only come in size 15's, i always liked your car Grey so i suggest on getting some flat black rota slipstreams with 205/50 tires. they will look tight with your CF hood.
